And, in the other side of academic shenanigans, I was just given a reading from the APA on treating older people with psychological issues. It, as one might guess, is full of statistics. Statistics that were current when it was published. In 1998.
I am unimpressed.
1998 still seems so recent to me. Chronological math is often painful.
heh. It only struck me because it was talking about how the Boomers were going to start turning 65 in the next 15 years. And I was like, "my parents are significantly over 50, and they're both younger siblings...when the fuck is this from?"
Boomers are already turning 65, both my parents are from the front wave of the baby boom and are currently 66 and 67.

Was already seriously thinking about skipping the country, so - why not? (Or we could do things the cheaper, easier way, and Skype.)
I am now playing with the thought of going out to a cafe with a laptop, and Skyping with the two of you.
Not sure how other people in my immediate environment will take it, though.
