"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

What was the rule about crockpotting when you are home?

Bad idea, right? Dangit.

What? Why would that be bad?

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Making food in the crockpot (slowcooker) while you are home. I thought there was a whole thing awhile back that we decided it was a bad idea because it smells so delicious and you can't eat it yet.

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

Ok, that makes sense, but I do it all the time.

I only make stuff in the crockpot when I'm home, so as to not burn down the house. (I know, the crockpot was made so that people can cook roast beast all day while they're at work, but I'm still afraid I'll burn the house down. The most I'm willing to do is take the dog for a 30-minute walk while lasagna or chili is in the crockpot.)

The cable guy is here! Of course he arrived as soon as I tried to make a quick run to the bathroom. Hopefully this new dvr will work, and I won't miss any more fall tv.

Tea:

I also leave the house when the crock pot is on, but I am super paranoid about making sure that nothing that is flammable is anywhere near it when I'm running it.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

I leave the house with the crockpot on two or three times a week. I try to not do recipes that require it to be on high during that time, but I definitely leave it on. And drive, like, two hours away. It's been fine.

I leave the crockpot on for five or six hours at a time when not home on high = though with nothing flammable nearby.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

I figure a slow cooker doesn't put out much more energy than the lamp I leave on all day so it's not dark when I come home and trip over the cats. So I generally don't give it much thought about leaving the slow cooker alone for the day.

I could be wrong, of course, but that's always how it's been framed in my mind.

Hey! I finally did some blogging! Included are photos of the weekend Aims was here! Check it out!
