Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

This is ridiculous. My primary care doctor won't call the ENT to get me an appointment unless I go and see her again first. She says she has Tuesday evening appointments this week, and I can come in then. Except I can't come in then -- it's Yom Kippur.

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

Can't you go in on the medical exception? Yeah I know in this case the emergency nature of the timing is that your Doctor is being a jackass. But unless you have an alternative way to get treatment in a timely manner, I think that counts. A form of coercion. OK, not a theologian, but still...

I think I can manage to get in sometime Monday afternoon. I'd planned on spending Monday afternoon doing some of the organizing and filing and grading and stuff that I won't be able to do on Wednesday, but I can figure out some way around that. I've got a really tight schedule this week, and I was willing to fit in some time to go to a doctor who might make my ears stop hurting. I'm not so eager to rearrange stuff to go to a doctor who might or might not help me get to a doctor who might make my ears stop hurting.

As for Tuesday night, it's not so much that I don't want to violate the holiday, but that it's the beginning of a fast, and having anything to do that night other than eat, pray, and sleep is going to totally screw up the timing of when I last eat before starting the fast. (I'm willing to drive to a doctor on Yom Kippur if I need to, but I'm not going to eat after the fast has already started because I was at the doctor when I should have been eating dinner.)

OK, I got an appointment for late Monday afternoon. This conflicts with my plans to play mini-golf with some friends, but I'm willing to put mini-golf at the bottom of my priority list at this point.

The status is NOT quo.

Hope everything goes well, Hil.

It's morning in SoCal, and I'm trying to get motivated to grade papers. I have a fun thing to do tonight, so I have to be good and work for a few hours between now and about 4. Motivation...?

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

If it helps Pix, I'm grading today too. Or at least my plan is to get a couple more papers in before I crash, since a crash is inevitable at this point. I'm already flagging.

Wanna be virtual grading partners?

Burrell, that's a great idea! I'm not starting until after noon, though, because I'm feeling brain dead at the moment. Must get food. Also caffeine.

Coffee first, absolutely. I'm on my second cup.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Work, yes! Was it today we were going to do an onerous task day? Grading definitely counts!

I am caffeinated now, and I had almond flour pancakes for breakfast. I still need to go get some cardio in, but I think I can manage a productive day if I get over my innate desire to lie around and watch football all day.

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

I need to get some work done too. At the moment, however, I'm watching football.
