So my window is getting replaced today! YAY! Except I discovered keeping the cats in my teeny tiny bathroom is not a good idea. They've been in the for an hour (glass guy was late and now still working) and I hear mad cat sounds.
Go to check and Penny shoots out of the bathroom straight into the bedroom and I have time to see Dean with a mouthful of PennyFur.
I couldn't find Penny (I looked under the bed, but realize now she must have crawled in the box spring) and ran outside calling her name around the outside only to see her in the bedroom. I'd closed the bedroom door so as she ran under the bed to hide I crawled through the window and camped out until she appeared and I could put her in the living room.
So now the window is in the cats are happily co existing in front of the bedroom window.
Yay for the new job Lilty!
Except my lower back from peeling 48 eggs.
I want those deviled eggs, man.
Okay. I have updated my budget software, paid my health insurance premium (hallelu for grace periods), paid my power bill and one credit card bill, and opened most of my mail backlog. Now I'm going to get my shit together and run my damn errands.
eta one more thing - I just looked at a bank statement - I have not had a single overdraft this calendar year. I used to overdraft (pulling from savings) all the time, like at least once a month. I've still had to move money out of savings here and there, but I haven't overdrafted. That's some financial progress, especially considering that my expenses went up (living alone) and my income went down (unemployment and then lower-paying job). ::pats self on back:: Now I just need to recover from the $500 in hurricane prep expenses and lost week of wages. And catch up on paying my water bills. And... I'm going to stop there and appreciate my achievement.
smonster, that is awesome! Good on you. (And you've reminded me to balance my own checkbook, so, thanks!)
Yes, smonster's post also reminded me to pay my electric bill too.
So, Tom update- went to the orthopedic surgeon dude, and he removed Tom's splint and didn't replace it with a cast! Tom's arm is castless! He's a bit freaked out.
Was it an Indian doctor? Cuz they are doing away with castes.
:: cue rimshot::
Yay, Nora! (Wait, is that a good thing or a bad thing?)
smonster, congrats! And I am reminded to pay a couple bills.
askye, glad the window is replaced and the cats are happy!
After 4 days I have finally managed to close my accounts with PNCBank. Oy. Except for my mortgage, everything is now with my credit union. I'll move the mortgage over there too if I can get it to work out.
Oh, change of weekend plans! My sister has decided she's tired of spending every weekend working on one of the houses, so instead we're taking a road trip to Blacksburg and rummaging through antique stores tomorrow. I approved this plan.
