May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

For a work of fiction I'm writing:

What kind of shops would a character visit in Portland Oregon for Goth clothes, Goth craft jewelry and decor? skull candle holders, skull necklaces only something less cliched. (Suggestions as to what is less cliched are welcome.) Also the character loves Chinese food. What is a really good Chinese restaurant in Portland? Not overly Americanized. If it is near Powells that is a plus.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Okay, so I was neither super productive nor did I go to the parade. But R is back in town, and we did get out of our respective houses and wander the French Quarter a bit. And we're going to see queer circus/burlesque later. I think we've managed to get the brain weasels to back off just a skosh, so that's good.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I just sat in my bathroom for twenty minutes with an unhappy cat while a tornado rambled about a bit north of me. Good times. The tornado's gone now, and I didn't even lose power. Still, it's a good reminder that the thunderstorms I love can get a bit frisky.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Medical question: I'm pretty sure I've got a UTI. I'm seeing my gynecologist on Tuesday anyway, so I figured I'd just mention it then. But now I've got a slight fever. Is this a thing where I should call the doctor tomorrow, or am I OK waiting until Tuesday?

Hil, are you having any pain in your sides or back?

No. A little bit achy at the front of my abdomen, a bit below my belly button and off to the side, but nothing in my sides or back.

I've only had a UTI once before, so I don't really know what the time frame is supposed to be. And with the other one I had, I didn't even notice it -- it showed up in a urine test I was having for some other reason, and my doctor asked me, "Have you been having this bunch of symptoms?" and I was like, "Yeah, I guess I have. That all means something?"

You should probably go see someone tomorrow if you still have a fever,

OK, I'll take my temperature again tomorrow. If I've still got a fever, I'll call the doctor's office.
