Spike: Lots of fuss over one girl. Other things to do around here--important things. Angel: You know that whoosh thing you do when you're suddenly not there anymore? I love that.

Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

No tots here. But you can grab yourself a foie gras dog with duck fat fries. [link]

Similarly, no tots, but they do the fries and duck fat beignets (among other things), if you're ever in Portland, ME: [link]

Our wings are not tired.

After scrolling through the last few hundred posts I feel compelled to share my non-dating experiences. I haven't really dated anyone since high school so no thoughts on that. I have however been successfully (IMO) married 3 times.

DH#1 - totally friend based from beginning to end. Met him while trying to get back together with old boyfriend. Never intended to date him. Became best friends and ended up marrying. Married 12 years but stayed friends after divorce.

DH#2 - total movie worthy love at first sight. Met at a party when we were both heavily involved with other people with no intention of ending those relationships. We both told the host later we absolutely needed to see the other one again. One week later I told DH#1 I could not remain married when I felt so strongly about another human. He ended his relationship as well. We married. We had 3 years and 3 months together before he died.

DH#3 - met in school competing on tests, turned to friends with benefits, then in business, now married 22 years.

Three totally different starts with one strong similarity - I was not even remotely looking for a relationship at the time with any of them. Apparently I am a marrying kind of girl.

How did I not know about that place?

I have been to all the stores, and I think I finally have everything I need for the trip. And I also have pretty new hair.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

I worked a half-day today, due to DH being away on a week-long trip. Home with the doggies, but I stopped to get chicken Mcnuggests, which I am eating now while listening to the BBC and feeling very happy.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

I got the bacon and Brie burger.

This is relevant to my interests!

I found out Sur La Table sells jars of duck fat, so I will be toddling down there sometime to get some. I'ma thinking that my favorite bar food, potato skins with bacon, cheese and sour cream, would be rendered (heh) even more fab by frying the baked skins in duck fat. And I am generous enough to make a few tots for Dan.

smonster! I am so excited to have you here next weekend!!!

Strix! I am so excited to be going to there! I would like to meet up with my other friends, maybe for dinner Friday or lunch Saturday, but I haven't heard back from them. The important is you! Your birthday party! And GettingTFO of NOLA, the town I love so much but just need a tiny wee break from.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

I have got to do a domestic goose for Christmas this year since I won't be going home. Then I could have lots and lots of goose fat to cook with the rest of the year.
