I had a whole section about civic pride.

Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

hi!

::is right in front of face:: waves back Hi, omnis!

Thanks for the reality check, guys. I've done the best I can at this point; the ball's in her court, and I'm done worrying about what she'll do with it. Remembering that she had my email all along helps me feel less guilty!

But I spent Sunday with my dad and that made it clear in my heart that this was where I needed to be right now.

As hard as the move has been, Cass, I'm glad you feel it's the right thing for you both now.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

{{{Cass}}} I'm impressed with how quickly you managed that move, and I'm glad you are happy with your decision. Continued ~ma to you and your dad.

Zen, I'd say leave the ball in her court, and try not to worry to much until you see her in person and see what her attitude is like then.

I'm finally following through on the doctor's appointment I canceled right after the move, when I was just too exhausted to deal with it. Just a check up.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Hope you get settled in soon, Cass.

What sj said.

Zen, I'm just nodding along at the wise words and wishing you discernment.

Having a good day at work. I used some balancing skills I learned climbing and created a makeshift speaker for my iPhone out of an empty plastic tub. Amazing how much better both the brain and body work with a little sleep.

Plus, very much looking forward to dinner tonight with Z at Nora and Tom's.

"We're all stories, in the end. Just make it a good one, eh?"

Zen, I'm supporting what Shir said, about trusting instincts, and also what others have said about people's lives moving at different speeds. I hope it becomes clear which one this is.

Yay moving, Cass! I hope it's a great change for you.

Merlin has suddenly decided, over the last few days, that he's willing to get closer to the house (and me) in the pursuit of food. He's coming into the back garden to ask for his dinner now, rather than waiting till it's there and sneaking over the fence. Also not running away when I come out to give it to him. Now if I can just get close enough to run a brush through his ridiculously long fur.

Cats are more likely to be willing to get close to you the less you seem to want them to. As long as you bring food with your indifference.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Oh wow. I didn't realize it was happening that fast!

I left Portland a week ago today. Weird. I have a lot of bruises to show for it though. And so many more to go before I am finally settled.

This coming from a person who loved to pretend her cell phone doesn't exist on weekends

I like to pretend it doesn't exist a lot. But that trick hasn't worked in a while. Still, it's a great trick.

And maybe-friend has emailed me back. She seems laissez-faire about keeping in touch. I'm totally cool with that, being of a similar inclination. She suggested lunch again, so I guess I was just letting my insecurities get the best of me. Thank you all for helping me deal with my sudden flare-up of neurosis.

Compassionately intolerant

Cat people, I need some advice.

The company I consult to was charged with pet sitting two cats who just moved here from a significant distance.

There is a window in the house that is non-functioning in some way. One of the cats has escaped...jut two days after coming into the neighborhood.

I'm trying to help the group...everyone feels terrible...with advice on how to attract a lost cat.

I don't have anything other than putting food out, but this is not useful in an area where cats/rats/possum/bats/squirrel, etc. are rife.

The folks will be back tonight, but is there anything you can suggest?

Are they willing to call Sam and Salsa in to track?
