Okay, you have two really bad experiences with a business. Where do you go to leave the nasty reviews and warnings so they don't try to dupe other people?
I am so out of spoons. Yesterday was an awesome day but today is just every fucking thing going wrong and I don't have time to just sit and cry. I also don't have time to find every place to leave bad reviews but I'm taking that time anyway. That bad of a taste in my mouth. Figuratively. Wasted three hours today. I don't have three hours to waste.
Now I need to go buy boxes from where I know there is a UHaul because two addresses were already wrong today. And contact PODS because they possibly sent me paperwork they need tomorrow. Kinda impossible.
Yelp? Does Annie's List let you do that?
I'm just really, really glad my personal laptop wasn't in there. I would be devastated.
Back it up tonight.
Oh yeah, I'm past due.
My DH looked at your post, P-C, and was aghast: "Work computer?! Did it have PROPRIETARY INFORMATION on it?!"
I am not that important, thankfully, so I think that should be okay.
I can issue a remote wipe command so that the next time the computer has an internet connection the user account will get blown away.
Can you rig it to Tase the thief remotely? Then use GPS to find the thief and have the police collect them?
We're working on that part. Right now it just plays John Tesh.
Strix-- mmmm, lemon bundt cake.
Happy Birthday to your dh!
P-C- that so totally sucks.
Strix, that sounds absolutely delish.
Cass, I hope you find some extra hidden spoons.
I just went thrift shopping with a friend for, like, three hours. I got several pairs of shorts for work, which I really needed. I also got other things that I didn't so much need. I need to stay out of thrift stores for the next little while, or only go with people who will Suze Orman me.
So much of my work is being done under NDAs and things like that. We currently have all the audio mix stems for a movie that isn't due to be released for a few months on the servers, so there would be hell to pay if that got out.
Oh hell yes. We are crazy about that. I can't even email work to myself at home, or to my iPad to use with a PDF annotator. A friend of mine emailed some sample work to a recruiter, got pulled in by Internal Audit, had her entire online life scrutinized (including personal emails between her and her husband) and had to agree to forego her bonus next year.
We decorated the cake with lego Avenger's figures! It's Lemo-geekadelic!
I got signed into an NDA recently, and the team is so secretive that the meetings often don't mention the secret, even though everyone is sworn in. I didn't know what we were talking about for a couple weeks. My manager won't even let us use codenames in public, which is a big switch from her original "talk about it in general" position. I wonder if someone got in trouble, or it was just a general riot act from the higher ups.
