Yes, watched the last two eps of Season 1 and the first 3 eps of Season 2. Good stuff!
Went to bed, woke up, and got to work. So, you know, good start.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Right. Sorted out a repayment plan for our guvmint debt. It'll take about 18 months. I don't think they charge interest, so that's all very reasonable.
In more enjoyable news, apparently the duck eggs being incubated at Ryan's childcare may be about to hatch. I hope it all goes smoothly. Ryan's looking forward to petting baby ducks.
{{all the hurtin' Bitches}} My right shoulder aches in sympathy (and for reals). I've got a foam roller and last night seemed to finally work the worst kink out of my back that seemed to be causing the problem, but damn, three weeks of twinging nerves and popping vertebra really takes it out of you. Just in time for my PT appointment tomorrow. Yays?
Strix, are you covered by insurance? It seems to me that PT should be part of the package, if you're having problems after the surgery.
Sail, i hope you get some relief soon!
omnis, any news on the hole in the floor?
Ok. I'm officially tired of dripping, pouring, cascading sweat all day. I don't want to be cold, I just want to be slightly less soggy.
I'm working by myself today and maybe all week. This is really not my preferred mode. I do so much better with a colleague. E can't get back from Vermont soon enough!
Also, I feel like I'm working in Patrick Bateman's apt. Okay, not that rich or creepy, and definitely not that OCD, but a slightly unsettling mix of expensive electronics, gun magazines, a hunting knife on the counter, a hatchet in a sheath hanging off of the dresser. Probably just some country kids who grew up to be investment bankers, but if I find a chainsaw in the laundry room I'm OUT.

Yeah, July in New Orleans has to be some kind of mega muggy.
I remember doing construction work in South Florida in the summer and having sheets of sweat flying off my arms with every throw of the shovel.
omnis, any news on the hole in the floor? No news yet. But since construction guy said its ok to move, just be prepared for a week of not using that room once they get started. So, packing. Mom and her man friend are coming over this morning. He has a big van. So, he's going to take the first round or two of stuff. Which should make it easier to see what isn't packed yet. Been up since 7:30 or so packing stuff, and starting queues for them to grab stuff to bring to new place.

I've seen things like this at home depot out here.
Currently 91 with 61% humidity.
I love my job and my boss and everything, but I'll admit to whimpering when a colleague forwarded me a job description that I'm fairly well qualified for that pays 45K with health/dental/vision and three weeks vacation. I'd probably hate the job, though, even if I could get it. Lots of spreadsheets and technical building stuff. No hands on.
Just gotta figure out how to make my boss more money so he can pay me more money. Right now these projects are barely breaking even, which is why I need to spend extra time figuring out pricing standards.
Sorry, been needing to brain dump. And while I'm at it, I hung out last night with a new friend who's an intern where StW works. And we ended up hanging in his hood, going places we went. I know I need to reboot my associations with those places, but the night brought home that 1) I still miss him and am not ready to see him and 2) I miss listening to someone geek out about medical stuff.
Thankfully, we didn't run into him. She seems pretty cool, though, so we're going to hang again.
omnis, I actually have one I keep forgetting about! I'm about to put it on and see how it does.
Yay new friends! Boo disgusting weather. I'm so glad I live in Seattle. And so worried I will pass out in Baltimore and New Orleans when I'm there in August.
Grrr, just got an email from an engineer asking where a certain line (on a document I just released) came from. He not only signed this document before I released it, IT'S HIS REVISION (that he had on his desk for a COUPLE OF MONTHS before he submitted it). So I check into it, it's been there since the document was originated ALSO BY HIM. ISTG, I thought the chemists that I edited for at the last place I worked were bad - they have NOTHING on engineers.
I told my boss that if she wants me to answer him (because he also copied her), I'll have to wait a couple of hours before I can compose anything slightly polite.
I will not throttle engineer. I will not throttle engineer, I will not throttle engineer. I will not throtttle engineer.
(Believable yet? Didn't think so).
