Anywhere, omnis! I've seen them at places like TJ Maxx and Marshalls, you could go to Home Depot or Lowes, or department stores like Sears or Macy's. Or Pottery Barn. Etc. Etc.
Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
omnis,
Not sure what your personal style is, but everywhere is right. I've liked the ones in Pottery Barn (especially the drapery machinery).
JC Penney's has (had?) a pretty good selection.
West Elm might be good too?
Crate & Barrel (but like PB, sometimes there are too pricey for no good reason).
For some reason, Penney's has a really large selection of window treatments.
There's also Bed Bath and Beyond.
I love you all!
Now, if only I knew what I wanted in drapes, to help narrow down the selection process, I'd be happier. So far, I have "not ugly". Oh, and mom picked up a silver leopard print drape (since the house is painted in a silver/grey color)... so I can safely rule out animal print stuff too. Aside from that. Not much clue.
well, you probably can narrow down some fabric/colors you like if you just walk through a JCP or Lowe's display area.
95% of drapes are ugly.
Maybe 98%.
In a pinch, for relatively plain floor-to-ceiling curtains, flat sheets with a wide top hem... Or whatever that is called. Pick apart the stitches at the sides to slip the curtain rod through.
ETA one of my apartments in college, we had found some gorgeous lace Roman shades, and for more privacy and light filtering, we put up white sheets as curtains over the windows as well. When the sun shone in through the lace, the effect was lovely.
95% of drapes are ugly.
Maybe 98%.Oh good. That makes me feel better. I thought I was being wishy/washy and picky.
Ugh. I hate when I'm interested in someone and they're not either clearly saying no, or clearly saying yes. Because really. I mean, I can play the game, but eesh. Also, I am a girl of little patience, so I can only play for so long until I break down in the "so, are we going to make out now?" (or more recently, in response to "what did you have in mind" after suggesting a hangout, "well, something that ends in making out?")
I have no drapery advice. Sorries.
Back from party. Can I just say - Nora, Tom, and I got five trivia answers right out of less than ten? I got the guy who shot Kaylee in Firefly (couldn't remember name but gave more detail than others) and then the catchphrase for Doctor number Ten. Really, I was the only one to holler "Allons-y!!" Nora and Tom rocked the Futurama questions.
And now to sleep all the sleep. Yessssss.
