We had squirty things that were shaped like elephants, and the water came out the trunk.

I got the impression that these were out too. I don't remember anyone making a big deal out of them when I was a kid as long as they weren't the black ones that actually looked like guns.

Yeah, I can see objecting to the realistic-looking ones (if for no other reason than that there have been horrible stories about cops and the fake guns and tragic results), but I wouldn't be a parent who was all "No nerf guns! No squirt guns! Nothing gun-ish!" so who knows

Thanks, GC and Hil. I'm not actually looking for an alternative right now, I was just curious what the consensus is, but I did get the impression that even those kind of things would be unacceptable.

Send it south! We're still just in the low clouds, muggy phase. I'd really like the moisture to condense into droplets rather than just...clinging.

...and back to work...we had an employee appreciation lunch today - very fun, but weirdly, nobody did the rest of my job while I was out there working on the event.
