Much ~ma for Maria and family and for Karl.
Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Good lord, if I were the employee on a 12 year old computer I'd be like "sorry, can't do any work, computer is still thinking!"
Star Trek "computer" voice: ...working....
Karl, it's good to see you here. I'm sorry things are so tough, but you're being thought of in warm and gentle ways.
Maria, the love and thought for you doesn't end, even if we forget to say so. May your cousin have the best possible outcome, and the least distressful route to get there.
omnis, it's wonderful to read of your delight in your new place. Y'all should be grateful I'm not giving a play-by-play of the new front steps, only three years in the achievement. Still, new front steps!
Tee hee hee. Updated profile with new address, so Buffista Map is accurate.
(what? I'm bored and avoiding manual labor at work)
omnis, it's wonderful to read of your delight in your new placeOh good! Glad I'm entertaining. I was wondering if folks were getting sick of the updates. First time home owner at 40 just seems so old. It's like, I'm finally an adult... now if only I could find me a wife, then I'd **really** be all grown up!
Serial...
Heard about this on NPR Marketplace: [link]
275 sq ft... um. That's a little smaller than my new living room. Does that include bathroom and kitchen? And a closet? If it was shared bathroom, might not be too bad, if you don't have a lot of stuff. It'd be like a dorm room.
I'm ... ok. Not numb but not really feeling a lot either.
Karl, I'm so sorry I must have missed this. Pain isn't comparable, but I have some idea of what you're going through. Strength and love to you, and I'm here if you need to talk. One of my most helpful things was being able to share my love for my dad with you guys, so I know that the Buffistas are here for you.
Thinking of you, Karl.
So I thought my green peeps here would be interested to know that this year my crazy Christian festival recycled more than they threw away! All the brainchild of my friend Carolyn, who more than a decade ago was pulling teeth to get them to do anything at all. I'm so proud that she stuck with it and that they were so responsive.
Here's a photo from their "viking funeral" send-off, where we crowdsurfed a paper boat down to the lake and shot flaming arrows at it and burnt it as a symbolic final gesture. Yeah, I don't really know either, except that it felt really cathartic and awesome and a little out of control, much like most of the festival. [link]
Here's us with the cigar box bass I made in class. Note that the SO has already purloined it in this photo, less than an hour after I finished it. [link]
woot for recycle!
Omg. When on understaffed hell project, the last thing I want to see is my coworker updating her resume....ack.

WOO HOO!! That is totally fabulous.
Having a glass of wine and gonna order food with neighborfriends.
Good news! The kittens have a home! One of R's coworkers is going to adopt them. Thank god, because I just did not need to have two more animals to deal with, and I sure as shit can't afford them. Cute little buggers. I'm sure their names will change again, but farewell, little Mickle and Musket.
