Lydia: Its removal from Burma is a felony and when triggered it has the power to melt human eyeballs. Giles: In that case I've severely underpriced it.

Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

they will disown him, and he will never hear from them again.
I dunno, that might only encourage them, given the lack of drama they would suffer from. Not good for you, if you have to follow the embargo.

Today was a nice day. Spent the day window shopping with mom and her male friend (not dating... But??? I dunno what to call him. Nice guy, and that's what matters). We went to Lowe's, and found the dishwasher that Consumer Reports gave top ratings for. It's only $600! And the lowes guy said there will be a sale on 4th on Bosch dishwashers, that will include free installation! Checked out the lowes flooring options. Torn between theirs and Home Depot, and install myself, or the flooring place, which will install for twice the cost, and also deal with removal and disposal of carpet. Then we looked at lighting. Didn't care for anything Lowes had. So we decided to go to Ikea. Saw lots of neat ideas for closet, drapes, kitchen. Didn't care for the lighting, except the LED strips. As we were leaving Ikea, mom spied the Target across the parking lot. She wanted to go there and look at more drape options. I said no. Legs are tired!! Then we went out to dinner. I am pooped. So much for getting some packing today.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Interior design question. Is it cheesey or good design to have similar light fixtures around condo? I'm wanting an overhead light in bedroom and living room, and replace ugly chandelier in dining room. Wanting something simple, not ugly, not too eye catchy, but not boring. Browsing thru Internet, and came upon these examples, in no particular order of preference: [link]

Good idea? Bad idea? Beginner idea? Thoughts?

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I like the latter two best, o_a. How unified will everything else be? A smaller place cn look larger if you keep one basic decorating theme going. But if you're changing colors and furniture styles throughout, having the same light fixtures everywhere might look like you hit a sale a little bit hard.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I don't know. They've already done a lot of the planning for October, but his father-in-law says that if there's any chance of salvaging the relationship, they should try.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

I'm up and dressed in mu work out clothes, but we are having a seriously freaky thunderstorm outside so I am goong to wait a bit before heading to the gym.

P-C, how long until your brother finishes his degree? His future in-laws sound like wonderfully understanding people.

He'll finish next May.

They're good people, yeah.

brillig

I'm waffling between "compromise good" and "give them and inch and they'll take a mile." Perhaps Parents of Cow will be happy that their concerns are addressed, perhaps they'll go "Hm, what else can we ask for?"

You're a brave man to throw this all out for semi-public consumption, Polter.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I don't know. They've already done a lot of the planning for October, but his father-in-law says that if there's any chance of salvaging the relationship, they should try.

I get that, but I'm of a mind that any capitulation to this kind of ridiculous blackmail is just going to embolden your parents to do it even more.
