Birthday birthday birthday!
Actually, I'm not doing a ton of stuff. I went to see Avengers yesterday as a pre-birthday thing (although I would have seen it even if it were months away from my birthday). Tim and I are going out for sushi tonight and then meeting friends at our favorite gay-friendly bar (I have a hard time describing it to people -- it's not Gay! Bar! Gay people only!; it's basically a neighborhood bar over in Northern Kentucky -- like your basic corner bar with a pool table and a patio and occasionally a band, but it's got the Pride flag out front and just has kind of a funky, everyone-is-welcome-here [except bigots] vibe).
Also, the Ulta store has a brow bar and people who belong to their frequent shopper club (or whatever it's called) get a free brow wax on their birthday, which I desperately need. So I am going to drive all the way up to where my office is, just to get my brows wrangled. Because -- free!
Tomorrow, I really have to get a new cell phone. Mine has been on life support for 6 months at least.

I have come to think of that as pheromones, not instinct. Good guide to attraction, not nearly so accurate at identifying a workable relationship.
I have learned time and again that I SHOULD trust my instincts, they are right...but the problem is, so often I don't WANT them to be right, and so I tell myself I'm wrong...
Had a terrible headache last night, napped and took painkiller and still had it. But by god, it's PRIDE this weekend, so I had to hit up the bar for dancing! So I went, thinking maybe I wouldn't dance, and maybe a drink would help the headache. And while the drink(s!) didn't really do much for the headache, they did a bit, and I danced some with friends and with someone who was visiting from out of town....AND, MysteryGirl was there! And I started talking to her, and while she didn't remember my name or anything, she definitely remembered me and we chatted and chatted...and eventually she went and I thought she was getting another drink, but she said she was closing her tab, and I was like "so does that mean we're not going to make out?" and she was like "Um, you wanna make out?" and I was all "Um, yes". So we did. :)

Sister bailed on visit. Anyone want to bet on whether my lazy ass will paint a room anyway? I'm betting no.
But I just cleaned out the four white vase-things that sit on my kitchen counter as catch-alls. They've been catching all for years. So that counts as progress. I found 37-cent stamps!
Happy birthday, Teppy! This weekend-I dunno, it's hot, I feel very languid and lounge-y. Tomorrow we'll go downtown to the French Market to see a preeminent tiki master who has just relocated to New Orleans to open a tiki bar- Jeff "Beachbum" Berry.

Pix, I'm so glad your friend is okay. I still think about the time I think I was almost mugged in Hollywood (in the bathroom of the Jack in the Box across the street from Amoeba), and it was terrifying.
