You like ships. You don't seem to be looking at the destinations. What you care about is the ships, and mine's the nicest.

Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I'm also believe I'm Faux Chaos Muppet. My last supervisor was a Faux Order Muppet. He impressed all the Order Muppets by having a clean desk, but all his paper was piled randomly in his desk drawers.

I have to vent a short rant. We are doing a musical. It's the closing weekend. Why is it the students never do a battery count until I am not on campus?? I should mention, we do an exact battery count of what is needed, then I give 8 more (which for a one week run, is a comfy margin of error). So then I either have to be an asshole, or come down to work on my one day off. Either way, a no win solution for me. Also, the grad student calls asking where the aaa batteries are stored because they need some. I ask how many. He responds "I don't know. The crew just said they were running low and need more." so? You were just going to grab a handful? Of course they are running low, there are 2 shows left!!

???

Sigh. It's not like the battery count is even remotely approaching calculus or statistics or anything. It's remedial maths! Number of batteries per unit X Number of units X Number of performances = BATTERY COUNT!!!!

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

On the Frankensteins: The rape bothered me, as it was supposed to, but Miller's version bothered me more; the way Cumberbatch did it, you could almost imagine that it didn't really happen, it was just the Creature's attempt at something he couldn't/didn't understand. The Creature's first murder, the family, was terrible and made it clear to me that he was never going to be Good; he wasn't trying to be Good, he was trying to be a man. Poor Elizabeth, she was the only one who tried to understand him and wanted to help him, but it was too late.

Katie and I talked about the differences between the performances. The Creature and Frankenstein was very different people, due to the way they were portrayed, even though the dialog and the script were the same. That was really interesting to see. And the differences between the two Creatures. Cumberbatch studied people who'd been injured, and Miller studied his toddler. So C's Creature seemed to be relearning how to control his body, and Miller's Creature was learning his body for the first time. It was fascinating. That opening sequence with Cumberbatch gave me chills. I was almost in tears.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

If this is the same set of grad students over and over, I suggest being an asshole.

I feel I might be an Order Muppet who longs to be a Chaos Muppet, or else a Chaos Muppet trying valiantly to pretend to be an Order Muppet. I don't feel Faux - I just feel I'm doing the best I can.

So, have been accepted for insurance. I suppose I'm one of the lucky ones. A lot of people can't get insurance or are able to get catastrophic only. But I'm going to be paying around $600 a month with a $1,750 deductible and 40% copay. Somehow I don't feel grateful.

My insurance is $500 a month, with a $3,000 deductible and a 30% copay. Needless to say, I've already paid my deductible, or, more accurately, my mother has paid my deductible.

I was volunteering at a museum today, working the face painting station, and a girl asked for "One Direction" to be painted on her arm. Not only did I know what it was, I googled a picture for the artist. How cool am I?
