just...disappointing maybe?
Interesting. In terms of the character or the writer?
less compassion for the Creature than previously
I don't think that monologue leading into the last scene would have worked so well. He even saw himself as a villain at that point, which had not been true before.
I thought the physicality of the creature made it so...something...in the book he comes off as practically erudite, and he still is, but you see his pain so much more clearly when it's coupled with the physical limitations.
Yes. There is such a mis-match between what's in his head and what he can actually accomplish.
Maybe it's just as well that I saw "reverse cast" - since I got to see Miller stretch more than I expected (I figured he could do Prideful Asistocratic-type with his figurative hands tied behind his back). I've always been fond of Miller, I'm glad to know he has the acting chops in addition to a near-perfect profile.
Heh. Fair enough.
I hope they release a DVD of Frankenstein with both castings. That would be awesome.
That and the Tennant/Tate Taming of the Shrew. I live in hope.
And the NPH Company.

Yes, all of the above because I haven't seen any of them.

Indeed. And Terriers, while we're wishing for these sorts of things.
I heartily endorse the above.
I watched Terriers finally streaming on Netflix, and there was a link on FB recently that said it was doing "surprisingly" well for them. Maybe it's a good sign for DVDs? No idea how these things work, of course. Also, wow, fantastic show.
Just streaming, right? I haven't been following the saga, but I got the impression that it's not on DVD.
(that's what I assumed smonster was wishing for)
yeah, just streaming, but that's how I watch stuff these days!
Same here.
I am having an "I am out of touch with the youth of today" moment. My friend's 13 y-o daughter is spamming her FB with squee over what I have now determined to be a boy band, and I have no earthly idea who they are. Like, none. One of the boys is named Harry, that's all I got. Geez. I'd never heard a Jonas Bros. song, but at least I'd heard of them. Ah, well.
