Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Is it shitty that I'm not interested in a guy because he's sixteen years older than I am? Should I meet up with him anyway? How would I politely turn him down if not?
These are the questions of our dating lives...
My date from Monday (to whom I accidently dropped the name of this board, whoops, so if you're lurking, HI!) apparently didn't feel sparks either, so. On to the next, maybe gained a geeky friend. ::shrugs::

It is what it is. There's no point forcing it if you know it's not going to happen.
That said, why not? What do you have to lose? (I mean, I actively go out of my way to avoid dealing with people, but I figure since you're looking for people to date, that doesn't apply.)
Eh, I'd take a look at the profile of someone that much older than me, but unless they were both hot and super interesting, I don't think so. There are very few 50 year olds who I'd be interested in. I feel like we'd be in very different places in life. I mean, by the time in their age, they'd be looking to retire (and unless they're mad rich and planning to have me retire then too...)
What do you have to lose?
A couple of hours of my life, and probably just postponing having to turn him down.
hot
Not really
super interesting
Boring profile, though he alludes to a creative profession.
Every time I reactivate my account, I think I'm going to respond to every one who messages me. And then... I get worn down and end up ignoring messages.
eta I responded "No. thank you. I appreciate the invitation, though."
Our neighbors, who have 5 and 8 year old kids, he just turned 59. (My mother is 62, for comparison.) I never would have guessed - I'd put him late 40s, yes, and he's all grey, but he's 20 years older than me but still feels like a peer. (And with a 5 year old to put through college, clearly never going to retire.)
Well, I'm going out with a 39 year old in Saturday. I'm digging her because she used the word "problematic" in her profile...while admitting to singing along to One Direction. ;). We are going to play bananagrams.
If you think you might like him I'd say give him a chance.
I'm going to Florida on Saturday! A couple days ago Dad called me and said "your brother, Mom , and nephew are going to be at the beach next week, and since you're not working I thought you could fly down. But I have to get some firm dates from them."
And he did and I just booked my tickets. It means I'll be away from Will during my birthday but with my family.
Mom's drove down today with E. My brother has some kayaking thing and wont' be down until Sunday or Monday. I called Mom and she got so excited and she told E and she said his face lit up and he sang his happy song. She gave him the phone and he even sang it for me. (Lately he hasn't wanted to talk to me).
Does anyone here really think they're too young to date me?
(trust me, there are
much
better reasons not to date me--tons)
I'm feeling very old all of the sudden.
Meara, that is about a three year differences, yes? Three years is nothing. I would say, even for people concerned about age differences that up to ten years difference is nothing. Past that - while depends. But if you have problem with someone ten years older or ten years younger, the problem most likely is something besides age. Like the person has the maturity of a blueberry scone, or the vigor and energy of a 90 year old nursing home inhabitant.
