Im about to bitch, bitch, bitch about something fairly minor.
Insurance shit. "Sorry, it appears we sent you the wrong 12 page form. Fill out and fax this revised 12 page form that has *one* word different from the previous version in a section that does not apply to you. No, you cannot just refax that one page. The font is different so we will know if you try it."
Also the agent is annoyed at my following up, so far there have been a number of problems all which were only caught because I asked where we were in the process. I have yet to get a notification of a problem with my application unasked.
And, yes, there is a tight deadline.
Let me guess, the correct answer is: Even if she says she doesn't want to file a compliant, you must pursue this as an actual complaint, and there is no way to guarantee Minnie Monopoly's anonymity as she requested.
Pretty much. It was a fun 2+ hours, let me tell you.
Inspection went well. The current owner is all moved out. It's in rather good shape. Just needs a good cleaning. The inpspector pointed out a small handful of minor things. Mostly were related to code was x in 198x when it was built, it is now Y, so for safety reasons, I would suggest you do this. Pipes are in good condition. Comes with the washer/dryer! And fridge! And stove! And dishwasher. No exclamation point for him, as he is leaking, and old, so only 1 appliance to buy! Tub needs a scrubbing. Porch is 8x15', or something to that degree. Long! And has a water spout on it, so if I try and get a green thumb, I can water them. Cabinets are in real good condition. Not pretty color, but good condition.
I took a couple QUICK photosynths. Everyone had to leave, so I didn't have much time, so not well stitched together, and a lil blurry, since low light and all. But you can get a sense of the view out the bedroom window! I have a couple others of outside and bathroom that I need to get on flickr. Here are the links to the photosynths:

I welcome any ideas for paint colors. Although, it doesn't seem white right now. Bedroom is a light tan/mauveish color (I don't know color names).
Are you going to keep the carpeting? Because now would be the time to replace it, if you have any doubts.
The carpet is in good condition. She didn't have pets. But, it's a bit of a shag, and I know from past experience, my crutch can sometimes trip on that. Sounds crazy, I know. Plus, pushing furniture around SUCKS on that stuff. So, since I don't need washer/dryer. I may do paint and carpet! First, gotta get it. Short sale. Expedited! Because the short sale bank wants it done with. No second bite at the apple. No extensions. Double Eeep!
(Yes, I have been singing "High Anxiety" from the Mel Brooks movie. Too bad, the only words I know are "High Anxiety". But, all with good attitude... just nervous as all hell)

Sorry for multi posts. It sounds like closing is just before F2F now! So, there is a *chance* I could do walk thru of empty place for people if they are attending!
That space has a lot of potential, omnis, and the porch and the view are great. You do have a lot of window-covering in your future.
Doing the floors and painting before the furniture goes in will save a world of trouble, if you can swing it. You're in charge, so what kind of flooring is easiest for you to get around on? Engineered flooring like bamboo can be competitive with carpet in some cases.
The current wall color looks hard to live with. If you can't decide, you could go with a neutral color like a cream or light taupe.

Not to me, it doesn't. Surfaces can be very wacky. If it's a trip hazard for YOU, get it out of YOUR house. Says the woman who occasionally finds lineoleum in good condition to be a trip hazard.
Torn between flooring and carpeting. Carpeting is nice, to keep the tossies warm, and less slip hazards on the sticks. But flooring is easier to clean up. Don't need loud vacuum for flooring! I like the bamboo and cork floor options. Looks good. Easy to maintain, and is a responsible eco option.
Colors will be neutral all around, most likely. Muted. But not white! My friend Crystal said she'd help. She's a graphics person (did ND & Pix wedding invites, if you recall them). And Pix offered advice. Then, it's just a matter of making choices. Eep.
I have a friend who put bamboo flooring all through her house, and it's stood up really well to her crazy cat lady ways.
Old-school linoleum is also eco-friendly, and they're doing some amazing things with it.
You may want to think about cabinet refacing while you're mentally spending all your money. It shouldn't be very expensive in a kitchen that size.
