Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Omnis, best of luck with everything!

Sadly the big gay wedding weekend is coming to an end. TCG and I are taking our tIme heading home.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

Yay, home ownership!

lcat, a phase that is only part of a sentence is quoted as "quick brown fox," since it's obvious there's more. If you're starting a sentence with the quote but there are more words in front of it, there's always "[Q]uick brown fox...." If what you're leaving out includes a complete sentence, it's four dots.

If your daughter nitpicks a kind gesture, whack her with the rolled up newspaper.

Thrive to spite them

omnis congrats!

Dean went back to the vet today, the new vet. Yesterday he was coughing a lot so I was worried about him. But late last night I found a giant hairball.

No respiratory infection, just a hairball. I like the new vet. She gave me more concrete information about his heart murmur. It's very faint and she gave me a printed estimate on how much it would cost to send him to a cardiologist. Instead of just a verbal ball park.

Dean's been having bladder problems, but it seems to be more behavioral, in addition to the cystitis. He's on wet food (supplemented by dry), he has his water fountain, new cat litter and a bigger litter box with high sides. I bought a second one and even though I'm not sure where it will fit I'm going to find a place for it.

Hopefully he'll stay happy and healthy and sleek on all his fancy stuff.

Ugg. Forgot, it has been 2 years since I took the Sexual Harassment Training for the school. So, doing the online version now. While it is necessary. It is rather dry, and all text based. And the abbreviation for Sexual Harassment Officer makes me want to watch Dexter. (It's SHO).

I wonder how often the SHO is asked for demonstrations.

edit: NCIS has a very funny bit at the beginning of one of their episodes about everyone having to attend sexual harassment training. Palmer, who works in autopsy, asks if it's alright if he's around naked people all the time. The trainer is horrified and wants to know about the naked people. Palmer says, "It's OK, they're dead." Poor trainer.

That might be more entertaining. This is an online slide show. Reminds me of the old Apple HyperCard stacks. Very dry. Very boring. Had to break out the emergency Coke (lil baby can used in case nasty headache comes on). Need the boost. Oy. Don't get me wrong. It's good to have the training. Just wish it was presented in a more engaging manner.

So? If the female student is the one who always says "That's what she said", does that fall into this example:

Professor Minnie Monopoly is the only female Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics. Professor Monopoly is concerned about the double entendres that are frequently made around the office. Professor Monopoly is concerned as much for others in the vicinity as she is for herself. She comes to you, the Department Chair, looking for advice, but has no interest in filing a formal complaint as she believes she will simply create enemies by doing so. She also stated that she does not feel she has been harassed.

Lord knows I try and get them to stop. And, I've been just as guilty of saying sometimes myself. But the female student says it ALL the time. To the point where, when she isn't there, and a perfect set up happens, the male students are "where is ___ when you need her?"

Be happy. I had to take online ethics training that involved "being a fly on the wall" (with an actual virtual fly that buzzed very loudly). Or the Pirate Treasure Hunt where you got "booty" when you finished a module.

Compassionately intolerant

Erroneously posted in Natter, following on the 'I'm cranky' thread:

I'm not cranky. It was a lovely cool day and Cagney is getting better every day.

I found myself telling him that I love him the other day...much to my own surprise. He doesn't care, of course, but it's a major step for me.

I was also way more productive work-wise yesterday and today. That makes me feel better...a lot. For a while there, I wondered if my GTD functions were broken.

"already on the kiss-cam with Karl Marx"-

I'm so sorry, Wisconsin, about y'all being stuck with that smirking jerkoff till one of the indictments comes through or something. I tried. (Most of our governors get indicted too...it's a sucktastic little club.)
