Anya: We should drop a piano on her. It always works for that creepy cartoon rabbit when he's running from that nice man with the speech impediment. Giles: Yes, or perhaps we could paint a convincing fake tunnel on the side of a mountain.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

Surgery~ma, Erin. No cast is a blessing, anyway.

Today was okay, Bev, but now that I'm back on chemo, it's obvious that it's the main thing that's kicking my ass.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I answer, "did you see the rainbow?" And he replies, "I was just calling you to tell you to check out the rainbow!" Awwwww.

Awwwww.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Awww, rainbows.

I hope the chemo kicks more cancer ass.

I talked to my dad today and he sounded pretty good today. He's going to lose his hair from radiation but not his beard. I told him Sean Connery is a good look.

P-C, the guy at my Trader Joe's was just bemoaning that he had to call and tell his mom that his wife was pregnant. Turns out HE AND HIS WIFE are thrilled. It's his mom who won't be happy that the spouses of nine years are expecting a baby. I told him that was her problem, not his. But that I was sorry. And congratulations. No idea why this made me think of you. None. Except sometimes parents are wrong.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

Matilda has never seen a rainbow?! Oh, wow, that is really strange! I promise she will one day. Has she seen rainbows from crystals' refraction of light? Those are pretty cool, and might tide her over.

Ginger, hon, I am sorry you are feeling ass-kicked.

redacted

I done good with that one; my heart gave a little pitty-pat of simple pleasure, unadulterated by anything but love. I am so glad I have splendid friends that allow hom to experience something clean and simple and lovely, and I hope those summer visits will be a memory he treasures all his life. He may only be a little bit my boy, but he is MY boy. And that little bit makes me very happy indeed.

Oh, and I found my family a great dog breeder, with a bitch due to whelp in 5 days, and they put a deposit on a bitch pup today. YAY!

To get a rainbow, take a garden hose, and make it mist on a sunny day. Ya might have to change your position between sun/mist to see the rainbow. Not a big one, but its a rainbow. And, on a hot summer day, feels good too!

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

His mom and SD got him a tiger sponsorship at the local zoo (he is crazy about big cats, and it is a great gift)

Sometimes she's way beyond my ken, but that is a cool gift. Made cooler that a 10-year-old thinks it's a cool gift. Happy birthday, M!

with a bitch due to whelp in 5 day

I don't care what it really means, that sounds nasty.

But yay for a new puppy!

Indeed. But I must give credit where credit is due -- it's a wonderful present for him.

The dam, Zoey, is due to have her litter on June 4th. And I talked to this breeder, and she really impressed me; she asked me, and my folks when they called her, a bunch of penetrating questions. She won't sell a pup to anyone who wants one. She also has this vid on her website (which could possibly go on Good Stuff): [link]

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Matilda has never seen a rainbow?! Oh, wow, that is really strange!

We're just not well situated to see them.

Emmett and I see them fairly often because the rain passes over the Bay and into the Berkeley Hills and when we're driving home from the East Bay the sun is at the proper angle to create rainbows. Double Rainbows even.

But since Matilda is in the City she doesn't get that angle very often.

To get a rainbow, take a garden hose, and make it mist on a sunny day.

We're in San Francisco. No garden hoses. No yards. Shaded back yards (which, in our case, is brick) because of the Victorians. Like that.

Why my brother is awesome:

Me: [FSIL] was telling me about the parents' reaction to the wedding.
Him: what reaction, the one where they said the same thing they always say and have done nothing in 1.5 years but ask me if i have ended it yet
Me: The one where Moms blamed her diabetes on you and said she'd kill herself on your wedding day.
Him: that was good
Me: I think I like the diabetes part the best.
Him: yeah she always threatens to die
Him: thats like, so overplayed

Also because after 70 comments on my Facebook post about the cruise, he comes in and makes a perfect Return to Zork reference.

maybe a sunny carwash joint? A couple quarters is worth a rainbow for a lil girl.
