Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Oh Jilli, I missed your post. Hairpats and hugs, sweetie.
hairpats to Jilli and hugs to Pix. Yay for Ginger having a good day, may there be many more.
Jeeeeeeeez, Erin, that's a brutal 24 hours for you and your family.
Slight introvert/extrovert anxiety happening tonight. I haven't been putting in any quality or quantity of social time with the neighborhood friends lately. I had just worked myself up to go to a impromptu BBQ gathering type thing (it took a while to get to that point) but Tom lost the nerve to go. And I just feel... like a loser, and that we'll lose our friends because we just don't put the effort in.
I don't think I'm saying this right, but I'm feeling blue and anxious. And Tom's anxious that I'm mad at him for pulling the plug on going out.
So, it's a weird vibe over here tonight. Damn you, insidious social anxiety! Though, I have been social a LOT the last couple weeks, and pretty much every day since a week ago Thursday. Maybe I'm just burned out.
Erin!! Dammit! I'm glad you went to the doc and told D. Morrissette-ironically, you probably would have learned pretty quickly in krav not to put your hand out when you fall. It's such a hard instinct to change, though - that's how I subluxed my shoulder (twice) playing rugby even though I knew better.
S. once broke his hand and played the rest of the football game. He loves that story.
I played maybe fifteen minutes of rugby with a busted eye socket. The view out of my right eye was tilted about 30 degrees, so I was playing with one eye closed. What? We didn't have any subs.
I am so *not* married!! In fact, I'm amusing myself by drafting different versions of my "I'm done" email that I will probably eventually send maybe to StW. My favorite is an SAT analogy with Twitter hashtags, but I don't think he'd get the hash tags. The analogy, yes. Honestly, I could just text him "I'm done" and I think he'd get it. It's more for me than him at this point.
My darling visiting friend C and I squeezed in some girl talk while her husband napped and read in the other room, and she said some super sweet things. She credits me with helping her out of a few rough spots, says I'm one of her biggest role models, and indirectly responsible for her meeting her husband (she messaged him online because he was from NC, where she'd spent a few weeks with me one summer). I'm having so much fun dredging the Romanian from the depths of my brain, she can't believe how much I remember. Her husband has learned a bunch, too, from spending time with her family.
I went to my first (and took them to their first) realio-trulio social aid and pleasure club second line parade today. If that doesn't remotely resemble English, watch last year's parade of the same group - [link] It was sooooo frigging hot, C and I got mild sunburns despite sunscreen and using umbrellas for parasols much of the day.

xpost with Nora! Hon, it's fine. Really. Do not with the worrying be, especially about tonight. KLM left about fifteen minutes after we got there, and then it was just KR and R and KR's S (uggh) and me and my two friends.
Y'all came to happy hour Friday, remember? Maybe you can plan ahead for the going away thing this Friday? I think everyone will be there.
I was salty that we didn't get to watch the second line before we left because the damned shuttle was early. I wanted to get a cocktail, and watch the parade for a minute.
We'll definitely be over for the going away party...
Yay, second line! Glad y'all had a good day. Man, the heat was very difficult to motivate in. But we did get to Target and arrange our hurricane kit for the season!
But we did get to Target and arrange our hurricane kit for the season!
You're ahead of me on that one!
Are you working tomorrow? Any chance I could tempt you with lunch at Felipe's?
You fell sideways, right, Erin? Then no, hands not out. But out if you're going forward.
I've never been to a second line that wasn't a funeral.
Oooo, she gettin' it - [link].
I'll say. What fun! Updating my to do list.
