Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I disagree! I thought it was great! I hope you enjoyed it, smonster.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

Her mom commented just now "Hippies and mushrooms," which I think is shorthand for getting a little too into the Jazzfest scene.

I SWEAR.

Why do teenagers need to be such fucking assholes?

Our wings are not tired

Yeah. Out of spoons. Physically and mentally. Just got home and I am teching another show at 9 AM.

omnis, pursue. That's an order from a shy woman who can use M-16. - Shir

Just got home myself. I can attest, ND is out of spoons.

Aside from the glaring WARNING signs on the car, she was fine all the way from Griffith to Long Beach. I had minimum electrical components on. So, no radio, no heater. It was a cold, quiet ride home. But, the car is getting 49.3 MPG, which is really good! So? Dunno what's wrong with it. I will wake in a few hours to take it to the dealership. I'm hoping it's something easy and cheap. Yikes.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Why do teenagers need to be such fucking assholes?

A question for the ages.

ND, I hope sleep brought you many spoons.

I went to bed at 7:30 and just woke up. That was the right decision for sure. Now trying to decide how to spend my spoons today. Must prep and mail package, must volunteer at Jazzfest at 3 pm. Options include a walk and talk in my neighborhood and of course Doggies and Donuts, plus going to Jazzfest early to catch some music. I think I need to choose wisely.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Much rest and car~ma to the techies.

I'm sitting in Jiffy Lube myself this morning, waiting on an oil change. I'll also need to replace a busted door-ajar sensor, but that looks like something I can do myself, with a $20 part. I love those kinds of repairs. If I manage it I'll feel all competent, and if I don't a little red light will just stay on my dash.

Please do let me know if this gets figured out.

Wishing an abundance of spoons for all.

Busy day for me too. I plan to shower! That's a couple hours between getting the actual shower accomplished and recovery nap. I'm expecting my parents and sister to visit. Debating taking them on a field trip to go see the work DH has been doing on the old house. The last time I went in the car I got carsick, but I'm not taking as heavy a dose of pain meds now. That might be a good test run to see if I can make the trip to a friend's party tonight.

I find I am a good patient for the people around me because my needs are simple and temperament pleasant. For me it is pretty miserable though. I hate my non-existent pain tolerance and the ridiculous amount of effort it is to do the easiest thing. Today will be full, but tomorrow I plan to pretend I am on vacation and treasure lying in bed reading and drinking tea. Also, spend some time in gratitude for the life free of physical limitations that I have enjoyed.

So, more concisely, I have always had respect for the many who deal with and overcome physical challenges every day, but my appreciation for the reality of those challenges is bumped up a notch. I have a couple months of discomfort and inconvenience, but I get to do it with the knowledge that this summer I will once again be able to walk for hours a day training for possible marathons with only annoying blisters to overcome.

Ok, enough procrastination, off to the shower. Also, the yellow plastic boot thing they gave me does a perfect job of keeping my foot dry. Yay!

All is well that ends in pizza.

It might be a math error...

Laura: Yay for shower!

After my hospital stay last fall, the ability to take a real shower in my own place was essential to my morale.

It's easy to think of being able to shower when you need to as a chore–until you can't.
