Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I visited a concierge medical practice for a business thing, part of which was a sample service.

There was terrible traffic, so I was 5 minutes late. They canceled my appointment because they are 'on time.'

I drove 45 minutes (without the traffic) to get there.

The plan was that I would refer people to them. That isn't happening.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

bonny, that happened to me once - an optometrist cancelled my appointment because I was five minutes late. I drove 15 miles in New Jersey rush hour traffic to get there. I was mad.

Had a bit of unexpected minor surgery this morning. (Unexpected in that the need for it was discovered yesterday afternoon). Doctor managed not to numb a spot. So I can now tell you first hand that stitches without anesthesia hurt more than minor surgery without anesthesia.

It seems like around here more and more doctors are telling you that you have to become a member of the practice - for somewhere around $50/month. The promise is that they limit the number of members, so you will get better service.

So far, the practice we go to hasn't done this, but it seems like everyone in my office is scrambling to find a new doctor.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

ION- breathing specialist did the normal battery of tests. Does she not understand? Repeatedly yelling "BLOW!" does not magically make additional air appear in my lungs to exhale. Please stop yelling.

Heh, I would have been hard pressed not to yell "HOOKERS!" at some point in that situation.

The longest waits are in the treatment room for my doc, but if the other patients are like Hubby, Doc is dealing with chatty middle-aged men with lots of questions.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

I'm still thinking about getting a new psychiatrist. The current one is barely acceptable and his office NEVER answers the phone or returns their voice mail, however, he gives me valium without a hassle. And the thought of telling my life story AGAIN to yet another mental health professional makes me tired just considering it. I wonder if it's possible to get over your issues simply by becoming bored with your own life story. "Abusive alcoholic father, codependent emotionally fragile mother, string of abusive relationships, yada yada, it's classic, you can write it yourself. Can we just move on to the medicine part? Here's what I need, thanks, and no, I don't want to talk about it anymore."

omnis, pursue. That's an order from a shy woman who can use M-16. - Shir

At 90 minutes, still no doc, but a fellow came in to pre-exam. Cute lady from Nigeria. Not the sharpest knife in the drawer. Doc finally came in after 1:45 of waiting. Now leaving 2 hours after appointment. They want me to do a sleep study. Blargh.
