And it doesn't exempt you from making the bed because it usually doesn't fold up with the bedding on it. Like a sofa pullout bed, you can snag fitted sheets pretty badly on the springs.
See, this is good to know. Because, that's the biggest reason I was thinking about it. I wonder if that's the same case for the piston style instead of spring style.

And I'm not one to make the bed. Seems easier/faster to tuck it up when company comes.
I say, get the platform bed you want, and don't care who sees your bed unmade. Making the bed just traps dust mites in there, anyway.

I think, Omnis, you might just want to make the bed when company is coming. Duvets and throw pillows make it easy.
