Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Glad it went smoothly, if too much waiting time, Ginger. Pulling for good, good outcomes.

Hope the interview went well, LeN.

All's good here; hanging in the hospital with free WiFi and a comfortably resting mother who came through surgery with flying colors.

Happy Anniversary, Erin and DH!

Ugh. Trying to get work done on house--I want screens in a couple of my eaves to keep birds out (they are loud and creepy sounding), and need drywall replaced where my garage flooded. And possibly the bottom panel of the garage door from where roomie ran into it.

Drywall people came to look at it...and then said one of their people had just died and so they won't have time in their schedule forever, and recommended another company (which is probably NOT owned by a hot dyke!). So I had to call them and ask THEM to find time to get an estimate, then we'll have to schedule the work...etc. etc.

Meanwhile, bird-netting guy is here, but realized when he got here that his ladder is not tall enough for my top roof. It's clear why he thought it would be--it's only about 4' too short, but at that height you REALLY don't want to chance falling off!! So he'll have to rent a ladder and come back, at extra expense and time. Sigh.

And still haven't heard back from the garage guy.

Nor do I know what my schedule will be like anytime soon (and training for this project is sooooo disorganized and crazy. GRR)

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Ginger, I'm glad your procedure went well.

Jen, I'm so relieved your mother is doing so well.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

Thanks for the happy anniversary wishes, all! We had yummy sushi, and since it's a work night for Dan (he wakes up at the god-forsaken hour of 4 am), we're going to Cabin in the Woods this weekend, followed by fancy Christopher Elbow ice cream shop stop!

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

So glad to hear good news, Jen!

meara, you definitely do not want birds up in there. Sorry the work isn't going smoothly.

Ginger, I hate the waiting in the rooms. It is never soon. Continued ~ma for you as you wait for the results.

I had drinks and dinner with more neighborfriends, which was good for my insecure emotional self, and I just found out that there may be some tryout work for me with a local contractor!! Which is total yay, except it sounds like he may want me to start RIGHT AWAY and my parents get here Wednesday.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

JenP, hurrah for good news!

And I'm pondering how all that affects who I am and how I am now, and my game of "affection chicken" (TM Cheeks) with StW, and my feelings of loneliness and insecurity.

I wish there were an easy way to transplant emotional security, confidence, and some anti-loneliness to you. If there were, I'd mug some politician or successful used car salesperson, knock 'em out, and take theirs for you.

Happy anniversary, Erin.

So, fourteen years ago, at a much earlier point in in the day, Harvey's momma crawled under my covers and went into labor. He is celebrating with half a can of "Cowboy Cookout" by Merrick.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Thanks, WindSparrow. I got a lot done this weekend, but I did it by myself and I think I just needed to recharge my people batteries. Drinking beers and trading oppression stories and resistance victories with the lesbians two doors down was just what I needed.

Oh! And my dad emailed me back - he's voting no on Amendment One!! Yay my papa yay!!

Happy 14th, Harvey!

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Happy birthday, Harvey!

~ma and hugs and cheers all around. I'm a bit overwhelmed tonight, myself.

YAY Smonster's dad!!

You any good with drywall, smonster? I'd be happy to have you doing it and staying with me a bit! :)
