(Speaking of: do I remember right that you avoid kitniyot? I always think that can't be easy on a vegan diet. It wasn't easy as an omnivore, and I eventually came to the conclusion that the kitniyot thing wasn't ever going to work for me!)
I don't avoid kitniyot. I tried doing vegan non-kitniyot one year, and I felt like hell. So I have beans, because nuts just aren't enough protein, but I don't have rice.
I am greatly relieved, finally remembering that pancreatic cancer is the nasty one over prostate cancer.
I believe his pancreas got pulled a few years ago when his gall bladder went. Along with some other organ. I forget now. I just remember he lost about 1/4 of his internal organs, and not stomach, large/small intestines, or lungs. I wanna say some of his liver got sliced out too. I dunno. Like I said, his warranty has expired, so all internal organs are showing their age. I wonder if he could buy an extended warranty?? Nah, too late. He had to do that before the first wore out.
Tons of ~ma for the dads of JZ and omnis.
The living room walls are all washed and ready to be painted and my father-in-law painted away all of the water stains in the inside of our closets (there is no longer a leak in them but they had never been treated with kilz to get rid of the stains and possible mold). Up next is filling in the holes in the walls. We also met with our oil company today to get a plan for our boiler. These are not the kind of things I ever thought I would find this exciting, but it is so much fun to make this house ours.
Much health~ma for the prostate cancer-fightin' dads of JZ and omnis. Like Pix said, it's one of the most treatable cancers, but, you know, it's still cancer, and fuck cancer.
health ~ma to the dads and their prostates!
Yes - lots of health ma to the cancer-fighting dads - and to the cancer fighting moms out there too. (Thinking of ita's mom here.)
Health~ma to the dads of o_a and JZ.
Dear Dude Who Is Starting To Piss Off Aims:
Dude, you're pissing ME off and I'm not even there!
These are not the kind of things I ever thought I would find this exciting, but it is so much fun to make this house ours.
sj, it's true! When it's your own house, it's all exciting. I'm excited about getting a new heat pump, for goodness sake. I wish I'd had a chance to paint and get new flooring before I moved in here.
I've found a lot of things fun. Roofs are not fun. Roofs are a lot of money, and no one every comes to your house and says "Boy, that roof looks good."
I'm trying to write an e-mail to my doctor to see if he can give me something for the joint pain from the anemia until they can figure it out. I don't think "Give me codeine, for the love of God" is going to work.
So cool, sj! It really IS exciting, isn't it?
