I'm sorry o-a. You certainly have cause to bitch. I hope your father's treatments are quick and effective.

Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Health~ma for your dad, omnis.
Lots of health~ma to your dad, and non-freaking-out~ma to you, omnis. My dad just got the same diagnosis about a month ago and starts his treatments next week. If you want to compare notes (and get a Google summary without scaring the shit out of yourself by personally doing all the Googling), freaked-out adult offspring to freaked-out adult offspring, just ping me.
Sucks, omnis. Lots of~ma to him. And JZ, the same to your dad.
Omni much health ~ma to your dad. And the same to JZ's pater.
Aw, thanks. My dad is pretty hopeful now that he's got a treatment happening -- the doctors told him it was so early and so slow-moving that they'd have been content to just monitor it every few months for the next couple of years before intervening, but he hated the thought of walking around with that thing inside him. The treatment is 20 minutes a day M-F for the next 6 weeks, and is some experimental program with (so far) very few side effects, so he's expecting to drive in from treatment to work every day and be all done by his birthday.
Lots of finger-crossing anyway, but so far everyone involved in his care seems very positive. I'm hoping for tons of the same for omnis's dad, too.
Sending ~ma to omnis's and JZ's respective dads.
Thanks JZ, I may take ya up on that. I haven't had the time to even start obsessive Googling. The phone call was relatively short (especially for my family), and he just wasn't in the mood for talking. Monday was day 1 of eight weeks of treatment. 5 days on, 2 days off. 40 treatments total. All he really said was it was very focused radiation, and they don't expect any side effects for at least 2-3 weeks. It looks like it's about 2 hour drive each way. Apparently the treatment is only about 30 minutes or so. Monday they made the commute. Tonight they are getting a hotel room. 4 hours in the car is a bit much. Apparently the hospital has little condo's of some sort so out of town folks can have a place to stay. But they started treatment ASAP, so didn't get on the wait list. They are on the list now. And there are discounts at the nearby hotels. And that is all I know right now. Crazy, no?
Much ~ma to o_a's and JZ's dads.
Much ma to both of you. My dad had prostrate cancer a couple of years ago; the good news is that it is one of the most treatable/curable cancers. Still scary, though. Hang in there.
