I would wait until tomorrow, myself.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Just heard from the HR guy. Bad news: I didn't get this particular job. GOOD NEWS: they want to hire me for another position, and will as soon as the headcount is approved. So yay?
Sounds like a yay to me?
I did not go look at the bike, and it's been sold. I did not go get produce. I did have an anxiety attack and take half a Xanax and fail at a nap. On a more positive note, I did some rehab exercises which, if I keep doing them, may decrease my chronic pain level.
My cats are staring at me and twitching their tails. Food times nao, I suppose.
It sounds like a yay to me, Jilli. If you feel like discussing -- did he give you any info. about the position, and does it sound good? I'd certainly be encouraged - almost sounds like they want you so much that they'll create a position to get you, what with having to get headcount approval and all.
Jilli,
that's great! what did they do, create a job for you?
I think that’s definitely a yay!
Yay!

The position they want to hire me for is a senior tech writer, instead of the principal tech writer slot that I interviewed for. One level down the tech writer food chain, essentially. The HR guy said the only reason they went with the other candidate is that they had slightly more tech/dev skills than I did. But the team I interviewed with went with the HR guy to a meeting with the division director and told him point-blank that they want to hire me, and yes, they are confident they can help me ramp up as quickly as possible. Friday is end of fiscal quarter. The HR guy told me that as soon as they know if they have an open headcount, they are going to get it approved for me.
The only real downside to this is that my unemployment is about to run out, and I am going to have to go through the paperwork hoops for the extension. Ugh.
hat's great! what did they do, create a job for you?
They were planning on hiring more writers, but the team is pushing for a position to be opened for ME as soon as possible. And I wouldn't have to go through another interview loop, they'd just hire me.
"We must hire this woman! She will raise our cool factor a thousandfold, and we'll have bragging rights forever! 'Yeah, you've got a so-and-so? Well *we* have a Perky Goth! Nyah!'"
I'm sure that's what HR discussions sound like.
