Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

DH backs up Dana's advice, Erin. That's how he does our taxes.

Our wings are not tired.

Well, today I applied for a Kaiser plan. I hope it doesn't take too long for them to review it and let me know either way. I have until 4/30 to pay the premium for COBRA coverage. I'd rather not, but at least it's a plan B. The Kaiser plan I got is about $400 a month including basic dental (Delta Dental). I was really tempted to go for a cheaper plan but two surgeries last year has scared me out of going cheap. Those surgeries would have been about $25,000 each out of pocket! For outpatient!

Thanks Java. Could really use feedback/critiques - look & feel, clarity, and so on. Then Friday I go live and actually start begging for money!

I've not said much in here lately but business has been going pretty welll. I've been working on getting a lease set up to make a large equipment purchase. It's a new console and 10 more channels of wireless. I just got the email that I'm approved for the full amount. I'm now finalizing the order. I'm both excited and nervous. Up to this point I have owned all of my gear outright. This is the first time I will have to support a pease payment on rental gear. It's the right decision so that the company can grow but it's more than a little nerve wracking.

Trust my rage

The life of the self-employed - either you are exhausted and overwhelmed, like ND these last weeks, or you are sitting in your office with nothing to do, feeling like you will be broke shortly. There is no middle ground.

Stephanie ain't wrong; I feel ya, sister-girl.

I'm on the upswing, a bit, but the beginning of 2012 has been a little dry money-wise for me.

Here's hoping that will change; I'm doing a trial edit for another publishing house, so maybe I will have two freelancing gigs editing books. And this would be developmental editing, with line editing as part of the package, so I would get some useful experience. I would LOVE to edit for Hachette or Luna or Orbit -- some great fantasy and para romance titles.
