Printing on the back is a continuing debate. Some people say to use the real estate to give more information; others say that people like to write on the backs of cards.
I'm doing new cards and trying to decide whether to put a QR code on the back. The problem is that business cards last so long. Today, all the cool kids may want to scan your card; tomorrow they may be saying "Those are so '10s."

Higher Ed is the default official term; academic is more a general term, not used to describe the administrative side of the university work experience.

I like either the 2d or 3d choice, Vortex.
Erin rocks with the resume-revising. She redid mine from top to bottom and got me some interviews, which frankly, I didn't think I had a prayer of getting. I got compliments left and right. She's also redoing DH's. Trust me, we wouldn't drop that kind of cash just because she's a Buffista.

I like. Though do you have a non-fannish gmail address to use? I've heard people remark none too kindly on individuals still using aol addresses. The consensus (bullshit, of course) is that the person is stuck in the '90s technology-wise.
The cards were really a great tool for me. Spring for the heavier paper. It feels more substantial, and I think it reinforced my professionalism. Again, I may be talking ex-cloaca.
