So yeah, not congress but Supreme Court ruling. So a thing that already happened. We have an appointment with a lawyer to start figuring out incorporating and starting that process. We've also just started working with our insurance agent to bring health care and workers comp in house, and our office manager is starting to get us set up with a payroll company to handle the taxes and payment issues.

So I hired one more person, and hopefully another as well. Hate the whole interviewing process. I wouldn't have made an appointment to meet these people unless I was already convinced they could do the work. The interview is really only an opportunity for you to blow the whole thing. But they didn't.

If things continue to go the way they are going there will be more hiring. It is good and bad at the same time. Tired now. Interviewing is stressful on both sides of the table.

Oh, the joy of hiring. So my first 2 of 5 scheduled interviews this morning are no shows. Seriously. I got out of my comfy shorts for this?!?

And the 3rd one didn't show up either!! But the 4th and 5th did and I hired them. They both come tomorrow for training. So I have 3 new people. And my son Brendon is working for me too. Wish me sanity.

Grumble. I'm dealing with one of my least favorite things with clients and that's payment terms. I'm in the middle of a project where we were originally doing just labor and design so the terms were set at Net 45 with monthly milestone payments. Not a problem and easy to manage.

Now we've added equipment into the mix and are getting upset that I'm not willing to do equipment on anything other than a Net 0. We're talking well over $50,000 of equipment at a time, and they want to do it on Net 45. It's so frustrating. That's essentially asking for my company to extend them credit for 45 days. Not going to happen.

Compassionately intolerant

I see why they would ask, but NOPE.

What makes sense for people who do not want to pay money is almost never good for the ones owed the money. Yikes.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

Services are Net 45, tangible goods are Net 0. That's basic.

That's pretty much my take, they were just being cranky about it. I get to define what my terms are for tangible goods.
