Has anyone else had Office products suddenly stop working?

Word and Excel are freezing as soon as a document is opened.

I read some forum responses that suggested throwing out the properties folders. I did that, but it didn't work.

I've downloaded Open Office, but would love to get the original products back.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Okay, I found the 12 cents, but not until I had mistakenly unreconciled months. But it's back now, and I'm moving forward.

Not had that problem, bonny, any particular file, or all files? Anything else running at the time? What versions of everything?

Not had that problem, bonny. Every OTHER tech problem lately, but not that one. Le sigh...

Good luck!

A propos of nothing, anyone know of a place to find unique business card holders? I'll check etsy, but beyond that?

Yes -- I swear I ended up in the Control Panel, maybe under Programs and Features? And there was a button that said "Repair" when I highlighted the program (I use the free "lite" versio that came with the computer). I googles to find out what was up, and that's where I ended up, but I can't seem to replicae the search that got me there.

Okay, now see?

THIS is exactly why it is great to have a community.

So. I searched 'repair software' and got instructions for repairing disk permissions.

I can now open Word docs but not Excel.

One is better than none! Thanks.

In Office 2007, click on the Office button at the top right. For Word, click on Word Options on the bottom, and then on Resources to get to Office Diagnostics. Similarly for Excel, click on Excel options then Resources.

I'm using Office 2011 and can't seem to find Excel options.

I ran the permissions repair again and Word still works, but Excel does not. Argh.

Our wings are not tired.

So I started out the day with 7800+ in my inbox and now I have 7658. It would appear as I get further away from current date it is easier to just delete or file, so this is something.

If I get it under 5000 do I get a bronze star. I know it needs to go away completely, but I don't think I can do it in a day. My crew has offered repeatedly to trim it for me, but really not an efficient method since they would just have to ask me about each email.

Trust my rage

I have over 60K emails in my gmails account. I keep trying to erase them but they won't go away
