Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
I do not know the origins of this picture, but the dog’s owner should be commended for providing much-needed protection from arrows and bladed weapons. She is ready to go to both the dogpark and the Ren fair.
Scrappy, hope J heals up fast. My neighbor was/is on coumadin for something similar (due to surgery), but without the funtime kidney issues. I hope J's out of the woods soon.
And the Rocky Mountain Derby Girls are seated in front of me.
It's turned into a stunning evening. The mountains have fresh snow on them, the leaves are clean and still spring green, the sun is coming in on that late evening angle that gives such a lovely color, and the clouds, while still heavy and grey, have broken up enough to show the clear, cold blue. The birds are even singing.
I was off by an hour. The first Rapturing will be in about two hours and 22 minutes. 9:00 PM board time.
Current local time in Kiritimati
Oh, that sounds gorgeous, Connie.
It's still raining now here. I am getting ready to drive to rehearsal, without the sick SO, who is feverish, so I don't want him spreading his contagion. So, driving both ways in rain and dark. Blargh. Not helping my attempted positive attitude.
But I had a nice dinner! Pork tenderloin basted with last summer's peach jam and chili powder. Nom.
The exciting news in Chez Zmayhem tonight:
1) JZ gets to see a free Richard Thompson concert! Which is a benefit thingie with Deb and I forget the details. But Awesome!
2) On the way to her school, Matilda and I stop by one particular apartment where there live three West Highland Terriers who come and wag their tails and bark (in a friendly) way to us through their glass door. We've been doing this for 9 months. Tonight, we met the puppies! Their owner was there and opened the door and we got to meet Stella and Stanley and Sassy. They were super sweet and friendly. I love West Highland Terriers.
3) On the way home somebody had left a bag on a street corner labeled "Free Stuff." It included a very nice pair of cowboy boots which I think might fit JZ. Also two pair of earrings (one Mother of Pearl), some random black tops (Medium) and fancy flip flops (probably toss). The boots are in good shape, black with blue stitching on the side pattern. We'll have to see when she gets home but they look like they might give JZ something to wear for rockabilly night.
Holy shit, Suzi! That's the National WFTDA Champs right there! AWESOME. They have some stellar booties.
OK, I'm really disappointed in Camping (the Rapture guy). He's repeatedly said that he's completely convinced the Rapture will happen tomorrow, and that he wouldn't even entertain the possibility that he might be wrong. In fact, he's said that having any doubt at all about the Rapture would be an insult against God or something like that. Now, with the beginning of the Rapture a little more than an hour away, he's backpedaling. From his Facebook page:
"At this time, the best thing we can all do is, Pray pray pray, for God's mercy, What we have to lose?. If you're waiting to see if this will happen, keep in mind once it start, wherever or whenever it start, That will mark the END of salvation."
So he's already preparing for being wrong by giving himself an out. And I was almost convinced he was telling the truth when he said he was completely sure this was going to happen. I wasn't cynical enough. Huh.
