OK, ita made me laugh with her (their?) stuff.
Which is good because I've been in a supercranky mood all day, and may have just posted something controversial to my FB wall.
Also, WHY do my shin splints hurt more now than they have all week, even though I haven't run in a week? WTF, legs! I want to go work out and now I'm afraid to!
Well, for a start, I put in "literally" and some gender unspecific pronouns.
That made me literally burst with happiness.
Now I have some cleaning to do.
Typing after bursting is pretty impressive.
Well, I'm a professional. Not everybody could do it.
So in the locker room tonight, there was a couple women talking basketball, I think one had been the younger's teacher or something. They clearly knew each other, but hadn't talked in a while. Anyway, turns out the younger is a Crystal who plays for the Washington Mystics. After googling, it has to be her: [link]
Anyway, it was a fascinating conversation to overhear. She seemed really amazed at the things she's been able to experience.
Oooh,my country. Watching Freedom Riders. It's infuriating.
The whole thing is so crazy and awful. I remembered my mother is out of town (in Nashville!), so I called my father to make sure he was OK. I said, Well, you know how the story ends -- we have a black president now!
(Obviously, he knows what all happened back then -- they were in VISTA in the south a few years later, and one of their friends lived in the black town outside Anniston, where the bus got burned out in 61.)
