Stop means no. And no means no. So . . . stop.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

I am clean and clothed. I realized that the last time emergency responders came to my door it was the police and I was in my pajamas. I feel like such a cliché.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Again, the vital question is, were the firefighters hot? The internet needs to know.

Also, it turns out today instead of Do All The Things, it is Have All The Good Intentions day. Fail. And it's not even evening yet. I have gotten through a good chunk of Game of Thrones, though.

I don't even know what I'd do if I were to stop having good intentions and do stuff. Go up in the attic? Weed? Dishes? Receipts? I just don't know. Thus the ennui. But summer is upon us, I really don't have time for days like this.

I wish I could say I was paying attention to that, but really as I was answering the door I was thinking of how to keep them from dragging me out of the building without my cats. I can report that they were tall. And intense. Beyond that my memory fails.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Yay Seska!

ita, I hope you get some relief.

Zappos, why so difficult?!!

There's a pair of boots I want, and the color I want seems a little rare. So I set one of those alerts, so if they get those boots in that color in my size, they send me an email.

Twice now, I've gotten the email, clicked on the link, and discovered that the boots in that color in my size had sold out already. BAH. This is the hazard of having very medium-size feet, I guess.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Congrats, Seska!

So, I'm watching Private Practice (still!) and two things: 1. I'm glad to see the show be more pro-choice than I feel like it has been. Although I have to say, I'm generally glad to see a show talk about abortion so much. and then 2. why the eff hasn't Addison taken Betsy?? Come on.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

From upthread:

emotional incontinence

What is this?

I concur with above sentiment that Mockingjay is some of the darkest shit I have read in a long time. The film is going to be BRUTAL.

Okay, front hallway and bathroom are done, except vacuuming. Some laundry is sorted. And a sink full of dishes is done. Progress.

Occasionally I’m callous and strange

Congrats to Seska and The Girl!! I am reminded that i really skimp on protein when i'm sick. the last week has been all about hot tea with honey and lemon ginger echinacea juice (nectar of the gods, but only when i feel like crap). Solid food is uninteresting. lentil soup gets boring. I'm getting plenty of calories (and vitamin c!) from liquids and still take my vast array of vitamins, but i have no interest in nuts or grains and cut out dairy entirely since it does nothing positive for my digestive system even in the best of health. Perhaps i should try to incorporate a smoothie into my breakfast routine. That might even work, since i've been utterly uninterested in toast or cereal or even oatmeal lately.
