And I think that the tornado warning has expired - now the NIU weather page is exclaiming about a severe thunderstorm warning.

Weekend plans: cleaning for my family;s arrival, feeding a friend's cats, gardening if the weather holds and laundry.
What are people doing this weekend?
I'm going down to San Diego for a wedding and then coming back up and seeing System of a Down on Sunday.
I love food trucks. The food truck rally sounds awesome.
I hope you remembered your water, Liese. I need to wash and refill my feeders, also - one is empty and the rest have been sitting too long - I don't bother to boil my nectar because normally it gets eaten up too fast to go bad, so when it doesn't I still have to change it oftenish.
Weekend plans - seeing Chicago with my mom on Sunday, painting the new hive body, maybe some gardening, reading the new Sookie Stackhouse.
This weekend, I'm doing various physical maintenance tasks pre-Vegas, possibly seeing Thor, plans with an um friend tomorrow night, and the usual laundry and family dinner Sunday.
Saturday: Nothing much, possibly cleaning
Sunday: Church, Greek festival at my dad's church, go out to the way, way, way East Bay to the graduation party of my friend who sounds like an improbable fic character - a Hungarian model/ law professor/mother of two who has just earned her second law degree in her second language. Then go home and kiss Hec a lot because it's our anniversary; possibly also crack open the fancy bottle of wine one of my bosses gave me for Administrative Assistants Day.
Oh man, Tom's post made me look at the food truck map. I could go to the grilled cheese truck that's 10 minutes away, but I'm supposed to be here for a conference call that may/may not happen. What to do, what to do?
This weekend is the big HS band BBQ for the incoming freshman. I have to talk to 40 or so parents, not my strong suit - I'm sorta dreading it.
Weekend: Ethiopian food, Harry Potter exhibit at Discovery. Not sure what else.
tonight - baseball game tomorrow - breakfast with the older men's group at church, asking for volunteers - then training with VBS volunteers - then maybe driving to see grandmother for the afternoon and driving back Sunday - church, clean house, maybe yardwork
but I so want one after hearing about your real-life Angry Birds, Liese.
They are so awesome. They are their own little military cadres out there. And fearless. I dunno what the dog thinks about them; their feeder is hung on his kennel fence. There's another one that's a window suction cup version in the sunroom, which is muy fun to watch since they're so close, but it's much much smaller and requires a lot more work than the big one.
I hope you remembered your water, Liese.
Nectar is achieved! Now it just has to cool down and I have to go through the normal yelping process that comprises refilling the feeders.
And I do have angry bumblebees bumbling against my window, so yeah, it does draw the buzzies as well as the birds. And finches drink regularly from this feeder too.
Weekend: Gah, I can hardly believe it's the weekend. Last week wiped me out so bad that this week has just vanished. Actually this weekend is kind of light. There's no church this Saturday night, and I don't go when it's Sunday, because I go somewhere else, so Saturday is actually totally clear for once. Sunday might be super busy or it might be chill. If so, it'll be yard work, yay! And administrative catch-up from last week.
We're done with School#2 for the year, because their kiddoes have a field trip during next week's lesson time, and eighth grade graduation during the following week's. I'm a little sad about that; it ended with a lot of anticlimax. But I'm also ready for it to be over.
