And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I got into terrible eating habits while I was pregnant and I'm still trying to break out of them. Snacking all the time and ALWAYS having dessert was fine when eating for two, nsm anymore.

Cool: Mike Rowe from Dirty Jobs testified before the Senate on the importance of skilled trades: [link]

Mike Rowe's pretty awesome. I toyed for a while with writing a Dirty Jobs/Supernatural crossover, because I think Mike would have a blast making fun of the Winchesters (and their utter lack of safety protocols!). But it would be borderline RPF, which makes me uncomfortable, and frankly I'm just not witty enough.

It's hard to believe nobody's written it yet, though, given the size of the Supernatural fandom...

Art Crawl!!!

I want the Fringe division to investigate something that the Winchesters are also investigating.

Because books.

I always wanted House to witness some of Sam's field stitches.

I just wrote No Reservations/ True Blood...I thought I would be set upon by Bourdainians.(It was just gen, though...I think they were afraid I was gonna write "Le Cage Les Halles" or something.) I won them over, ultimately. I'm good at impressions. (I never did show Dirty Jobs people my Dirty Jobs/Wire fic, in case nobody considered working for a drug dealer one of the "unseen jobs that make life livable for the rest of us."

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

That's pretty much where I am right now too, but with chemo instead of pregnancy. Between the comfort eating, lack of energy, and taste buds that decided everything but chocolate and peanut butter was suspect, I put on a lot of weight, which I was totally fine with, under the circumstances. Now though, even though I'm eating healthy stuff again, I'm still chowing down on the sweets far too much as well, so I need to turn that around.

Oh, cool, erika! I admit that one of the stories I loved best from this year's Yuletide was that "No Reservations Narnia" story. So fun.

I shouldn't be as uncomfortable about that kind of RPF as I am, because something like "No Reservations" or "Dirty Jobs" is probably just as constructed a product as any scripted show. I just like to stay a long way from the slippery slope to pundit!slash. Not my beautiful cake and all that.
