"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

As long as you don't go on to tell him about BMECT.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Heh.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

OMG, I just got a bunch of compliments on the requirements gathering meeting from hell. Not only do I feel like shit on toast warmed over, but I don't feel I got my questions answered.

But, hey, if the boss thinks I look good, I look good, right?

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Kathy, I keep meaning to tell you how awed and impressed I am with your progress. You're amazing, and you look terrific!

And ita, you look absolutely fantastic. Goes without saying.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

As long as you don't go on to tell him about BMECT.

But My Experience Counts Too?

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Woo! Apple just sent me a shipment notice for the laptop, with a FedEx tracking number which does indeed have actual tracking information when I click on it.

Apparently you CAN ship a computer next-day to Cincinnati from The Rift.

Unrelatedly, I'm editing something on genetics that uses the word "mendelian" (as in Gregor Mendel). The AMA style guide says it should be lower-case, but then goes on to say that editors should defer to -- specifically -- "the latest edition of Merriam-Webster."

Which, naturally, capitalizes it.

I am in a quandary.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Cat Opening a Box

Kitty can't get the box open, so it drags a human's hands to the box with its teeth to get the human to open the box. I've never seen a cat do that....

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Now, that's a cat who knows how to use tools.
