Inara: So, explain to me again why Zoe wasn't in the dress? Mal: Tactics, woman. Needed her in the back. 'Sides, those soft cotton dresses feel kinda nice. It's the whole... air-flow.

not your mom's socks.

you sound fine Consuela - despite what I'm reading as some structural editorializing on the part of the writer.

structural editorializing on the part of the writer.

Heh. Yeah, she spoke to the other parties first, so there was an assumption that all the problems are caused by us, when in fact (based on the old files I've been looking at), the local folks have been just as difficult.

But local political pressure is, in fact, helpful: it gets people's attention, and maybe I can get the funding for the work.

I didn't tell her anything I wouldn't tell anyone else, but TBH it looks more damning than pragmatic out there in black and white...

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I swear I look nothing like any pictures of me ever taken and more like a heap of grey animal turds.

UNTRUE!!

Lisa, I could (and might!) look at your wedding pictures ALL DAY LONG.

In other other news, today is the tenth anniversary of Douglas Adams' death. So here's an essay he wrote on how to stop worrying and love the internet: [link]

For reals! That smile! The love!

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

I think you sound just fine, Consuela, particularly considering what you're stuck with communicating.

I have been a L&O franchise fan, generally, because it's nice to have something that's pretty much guaranteed to be decently written and acted and not have to follow an arc and see every episode. L&O: LA didn't meet the standards of the franchise. I thought the acting level was overall worse and the stories unoriginal. Also, Peter Coyote's character is too evil.

This is the larger goal - and you're doing what you can to get it. That's important.

Plus you get to go to Wiscon in SOON (don't you?) and (now that I know what that is) I'm jealous.

Ack, no, I won't be this year. My niece is graduating from Brown that weekend and so I'm going to Providence.
