Punishingly Intricate

I know my doctor and nurse friends love Danskos. More expensive but pretty stylish and very sturdy.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Colin swears by Earth shoes.

Geeky growth chart. Man, I wish I were still growing. Is that a shallow reason to have a kid?

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Earth shoes, you mean the ones with "negative heel technology"? I was always afraid of those. Seems like they would kill your back.

Yeah. He has had extensive foot problems (including surgery), and they are all that he wears now.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

It's so funny, I remember my mom wearing those in the seventies.

Huh. Maybe I'll give them a try.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

It's funny, in England, the cashiers sit down, and it feels so weird, but it makes so much more sense!

One of the new litigation trends in California is to sue employers for not providing suitable seating for their employees, which they are required to do (eta when the nature of the work allows it).

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

I wore Earth Shoes in the '70s, when I was in junior high. I had a chocolate brown suede pair that I just loved.

When I worked at Waldenbooks, those who had to work at the calendar kiosk in the fall and winter were never allowed to sit down, even though all of the other kiosk workers in the mall had stools. Borders Group policy forbade anyone from sitting down at a register. When I was at B&N, however, my managers let me sit down without saying anything because I was just too heavy to stand on my feet for eight hours behind the register.

I have finally got my FSA claims for last year mailed off. But the insurance system is borked. I'm getting random EOBs when I click on shit. So I can't get my paperwork for this year.

I am being more rigourous about saving medical expense receipts for tax next year. It seems that transportation can be deducted--does anyone know if those standard taxi business card receipts are sufficient? After all, they have me fill them out myself.

Well, thanks to food poisoning or the stomach flu, I dropped 5 pounds in 2 days and discovered that Green Machine Naked Juice is pretty tasty, so I'll be drinking that while I ease myself back into the land of solid foods.
