For some reason I find it entertaining that they've apparently wedged the President of the United States into the corner and out of the way.

Sort of on topic, Craig Ferguson just said Navy SEALs are "badass hombres who eat bugs and poop freedom". Heh. I love him so.

I find the plastic drink cups with the presidential seal amusing.

And yeah, Obama needs to say "Nobody puts Prez in the corner!"

I find that so seriously disturbing and wrong.

Argh. I just engaged on FB. I need to not do that. But this woman I know was posting (with MANY ASSCAPS) about how OBAMA did NOT kill Bin Laden! It was AN AMERICAN SOLDIER who did it, and it is NOT an OBAMA victory, but an AMERICAN VICTORY that Obama just HAPPENED to be in office for REPOST IF YOU AGREE!!!

So I replied that if one were to take her precision of statement to its logical end, the bullet that killed Bin Laden could have been shot by ONLY ONE soldier, not ALL OF AMERICA, and therefore it would be THAT SOLDIER'S victory, wouldn't it? Blah blah blah commander-in-chief blah blah blah credit goes both ways blah blah blah if you REALLY believe that it is a victory for ALL OF AMERICA, then ALL OF AMERICA includes Obama, doesn't it?

I expect a mass de-friending.

Also, despite the oft-quoted MLK bit going around FB, I can't pretend I'm not glad Bin Laden is dead. And the viral multiplication of that quote makes me fairly sure that at least 75% of the people I know think I'm a jackass hater who's gonna hate and I'm bringing down humanity with my lack of compassion. But...I can't lie. I'm glad they took him out.

I *want* to feel compassion for every living thing. Including Bin Laden and that fuckwit GW Bush. But I don't. I am trying, which probably doesn't count for much in the MLK quote big scheme of things (no one ever got quoted for saying "Really, I'm trying to not hate, but I'm not...quite...there yet!"), but I'm not there. I am violently imperfect, and I know this. All I can hope is that trying counts for something.

Well, my point wasn't really about who originally said it. Perhaps I wasn't clear. My point was about the content. Carrot Top could have said it, and my reaction would be the same.
