Natter 68: Bork Bork Bork
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
If he wins the nomination, I hope a majority of Americans will realize he's batshit insane. (Wait, which is more crazy: batshit or bugfuck?)
Guano has commercial value, so I'm going wih bugfuck. 'Cause really, not only do you have to have one seriously messed up private life to go for that, but I'm seeing a certain level of obsessiveness in figuring how to make it even work.
And I would never put chili on spaghetti! At home -- if I were in Cincy or similar, of course I would sample the local customs.
I when I make chili at home, it's not like Skyline, and I don't put it on spaghetti, because it's really thick and beany and meaty. I just shovel it straight out of the bowl like some kind of ranch hand.
The only chili I have over spaghetti is Skyline, since it's so soupy that it's more like a sauce. I'm always bemused that they offer it in a bowl for people who are GF/low-carb. Because it's a bowl of soupy glop. (And for the ultimate GF coney dog experience, they will cut up about 4 hot dogs into your bowl of gloppy chili. Gnnnagh.)
Skyline is kinda good on a potato, but they stopped offering potatoes on their menu, which makes it really fucking hard for a GF person to eat there. It's like, Greek salad, bowl of glop, or fries. Sadface.
Hmmm. Now I want chili. (My chili, not Skyline.) And I have none. Woe is me. No one knows my pain.
The big event for the weekend for us is the silent auction at the kids' school. Date night! Makes up for last night, when I went from work to my MiL's house to babysit while Aunty went out to dinner and a movie. I did enjoy hanging out with my MiL, we rewatched the royal wedding (rewatch for her, first watch for me).
Kids and husband stayed home and got haircuts. They are now all adorable. Me? I'm still unkempt.
Wait, which is more crazy: batshit or bugfuck?)
I feel like you are inviting Batman vs Spiderman comparisons.
I realized that I still have the Tostitos from last night, so did go with chili. To make later.
Trump has no real shot, so I'm not worried about how crazy he is. (Spoiler: Very.) At this point, I think it's just name recognition.
I went and did errands -- boots to the cobbler, library, Sephora, where I bought foundation (because I think I just pick the wrong shade at the drugstore) and powder (we'll see), and I had to ask to get one tiny sample! I did not think that was how Sephora rolled. Also I went to Pinkberry, where I determined once again how much I prefer Red Mango. Should have walked the extra blocks. Next time!
On the downside, I was listening to Adele the whole time, which I now realize has made me melancholy. Oops.
I did not sleep last night! Yay total insomnia! It's classic self-defeating behavior for me before we have people in. Just me fussing over stuff I can't do anything about.
I also designed a house in my brane, and decided I knew what was wrong with my laser printer after exhaustive mental diagnostics, and worked up a menu plan for the guys to eat this week. So I eventually got up and wrote all that stuff down, since I clearly wasn't going to get any sleep anyway.
But now I'm tired. Quick nap midday, and then I'll have to perform at church tonight. (It's our band leader's last official day. He was getting paid $12,000 a year for 60+ hours of work every week, and just couldn't do it anymore. (After a month of notice, they have just one candidate who hasn't even come in now, and the position is posting for $24,000-$36,000.) Gee, do you think maybe triple the salary might have kept him here?) Anyway.
Hopefully I'll survive. The SO is picking up the guys at Albuquerque on Sunday, so I don't have to do that, and I'll probably have my swag wag back in the shop Monday morning, so we'll see what the week actually looks like.
(eta: man, I must be tired, I messed up my nested parentheticals.)
Yikes, Liese. Here's to surviving....
Congrats, Pix!
Hope you get some rest soon, Liese.
Chili fries seem like a natural, Steph, though soupy glop may not work that way.
Huh, I thought I had something I was going to say that wasn't a response to someone else. Guess not.
I make Cincy style chili at home, but then I do not have access to Skyline. So at home is the only way I'm going to get it.
I adore all of the photos!! More please!!!!
I put some on Flickr. They're all found on Facebook, too, I think.
