We're not gonna die. We can't die, Bendis. You know why? Because we are so very pretty. We are just too pretty for God to let us die.

4 years. Man.

How ridiculous is this: I've taken to employing the squirter to keep Loki off the shelves. Except even if I don't squirt it, just shake it, he goes off and avoids me, TOTALLY not trusting me not to squirt him at random until I coax him back out and make up to him.

Dude. Just stay off the shelves. This cat has such a tender ego. Gets his fweewings hurt soooo easily.

Happy Birthday Noah and Grace!!

That's why I have a DSLR and also have a very good very small point and shoot.

What P&S do you have, ND? My trusty Canon seems to be dying after six years.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

But I look at the grey jacket, and I just want to give it light grey highlights. But I have been told not to do that.

I don't know what rules other people are following, but that sounds like a good place to start, to me. From there you can adjust the highlights to take into account the color of your light source. For shadows you can usually touch in a little extra blue or purple.

Brenda, tommyrot, and Kathy should appreciate this bit from the God of Carnage performance report from this afternoon.

the hardest to learn / was the least complicated

Steph knows the answer. I figure if there's a difference between binders, etc, between generics and name brand, the binding/delivery mechanism can actually be deliberate and important, and by circumventing that, you might be messing with something.

Hil is right -- if the label says "do not crush" or "take whole," then you definitely shouldn't crush the pill or open up the capsule. But otherwise, it's generally okay.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Happy birthday, Noah and Grace! Four is just... boggling, that's what. And awesome, and delightful, and holy smacks, FOUR. Matilda sends much love (she just turned 4 1/2 yesterday).

Unpleasant parenting event which I'm in no hurry to repeat: Today at coffee hour after church, a fiftyish guy I've seen every now and then for the past couple of months came over to say hi and praise Matilda's cuteness and sweetness -- all well and good, but did he really need to preface it by pointing at me, at her, and at me again and saying, "Soooo.... are you the mommy or the grandma?"

Hah! Yeah, I averted my eyes during that bit.

Turns out my teacher is apparently okay with my paper being a page short of the minimum length, so I'm on track to get either an A minus or an A. Class is now done until my summer course starts on May 9th--yay! I'm taking Archiving twice a week from 5/9 to 6/27, and then I'll have the next two months off until the fall classes start.

I like having time off.

Also, after I finish the class, I'm going to contact the librarian at the Adler Planetarium, whom I learned about during a classmate's presentation in the class I just finished. Apparently, she's got a big backlog on getting her collection in the system, and I really want to add a museum library job to my resume, so I'm going to volunteer there and see if I can help her out.

Kathy, I don't know if it'd be any help, but if you get an Adler gig, let me know. Our librarians I am sure are interested in Adler.
