"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

I know! I went through enough tornadoes as a kid that I get all pissy with people who want to go out and look at one. Don't go out and look at it, idiot! Take shelter! Mother Nature pwns your ass, and she's apparently had a bad day.

hip deep in pie

"HOLY SHIT WHY ARE YOU NOT COWERING IN A BASEMENT LIKE AN INTELLIGENT PERSON! I DO NOT NEED TO SEE THAT VIDEO THAT BADLY!"

Seriously.

I have never been near a tornado, and those videos are freaking me out.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I just talked my sister through a margin adjustment in Word. It went something like "Can you adjust the margin?" "No." "But I need it!" "I'm not doing it. Move the thing yourself." "Are you sure you want to give me the fish?" "The fish, the rod and the fish food. I'm not doing it." "Oh! Hey! Look at that. Nice talking to you."

I half expected her to tell me the cafe was on fire like the iPhone ad.

I had nightmares about tornados before I ever experienced the edges of one (visiting relatives in the midwest.)

Just spent the last couple of hours drinking wine, eating guac and watching storms to the south with neighbors on a nearby porch. I wanted to stay out longer, but all day meetings tomorrow and I think 4 glasses of white is enough for tomorrow...

I FUCKING LOVE THIS NEIGHBORHOOD.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Aww, I love that you're still smitten with your neighborhood. It is a romance for the ages. I am still smitten with my house, too. Although my house seems to think that if I feel so enamored of it, I should keep it tended just a bit better.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

My house feels the same way as Liese's. Entitled little thing!

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

I'm watching last night's Colbert Report, and he just referenced Hookers and Blow.

... Colbert! Are you LURKING? C'mon out! We don't bite! (Unless you ask very nicely.)

Now tagless for your comfort.

Day three of Disney. Love that the kids wanted to go back to Pirates of the Caribbean twice. Owen has full pirate kit. Liv has her princess dress (Belle) and I'm freakin' exhausted. But I love that it's perfectly natural for kids to walk around this park dressed up and everybody treats them like it's the best thing in the world.

Tomorrow is pool and lunch and then flying home. Back to what is apparently SNOW and rain and 40 degree temps. Boo.

Oh, my house is a demanding creature as well.

Figured out Loki's warcry source of tonight: grey tabby, I'd guess male, hanging around my deck. Loki goes crackers.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

So I'm listening to a Jamaican radio show on polyamory (multiple consenting partners) (that tag is part of the title), and I'm wondering who her audience is, and if she's going to get poly people calling in to talk about their lifestyles--I think where poly traditionally exists in Jamaica, it's really not something you talk about while it's happening. You just accept and work with its rules.

And if you asked the average bougie, they will be terribly horrified, even if that's how they grew up.
