"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

My one friend with millionaire parents is a pretty regular kind of guy, but they were self-made millionaires and sent him to public school with the rest of us riff-raff. He did do the college-forever-until-he-found-a-career-he-liked thing though.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

When I went to fancy college, I kind of assumed I would become friends with rich people who would take me on fancy vacations and stuff, but I never was. My richest friend, I could tell she was rich because they never qualified for any kind of financial aid until her third sibling was also in college, and her mother didn't work. Their house wasn't fancy, but the father did drive a Town Car with a phone in it....

Punishingly Intricate

I have no idea how I would have turned out if I'd been born into a very wealthy family. That's very hard to imagine. I'm pretty sure that if I suddenly came into enough money that I could live comfortably without earning an income I'd volunteer basically full time with the organization I do the big bike ride for every year. And travel a lot more.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

Thanks for all the congrats yesterday. I kinda thought that pending responsibility would snap me out of my do nothing mood, but not really. I MADE myself write out a to-do list today because btw vbs and the job starting on monday, I kinda really need to get my head wrapped around having commitments and people other than mac depending on me. It's noon and I've only done 2 of the 9 things on the list. Guess I should eat something and get busy.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

I have to admit, if I were independently wealthy, I would probably be Arthur.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Yeah, I'd probably party my ass off for a year or until that got old. (Or does that never get old?)

There might be hookers and blow.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

Definitely congrats on the job, msbelle!

If I were suddenly wealthy, I'd probably continue working at whatever library I could, but then set up scholarship funds for inner-city kids to go to college, starting with them when they're in elementary school and keeping track of them throughout their school years. I first heard about wealthy benefactors doing that a few decades ago, and always loved the idea.
