Dawn: I thought you were adequate. Giles: And the accolades keep pouring in. I'd best take my leave before my head swells any larger. Good night.

I'm guessing goodwill is taxed differently than capital gains or profits.

"What kind of magical sunshine and lollipop world do you live in? Because you need to be medicated."-SFist

In a business context, goodwill is something that you can't put a price on, like the "value" of a stable customer base. If you are a dry cleaner with loyal customers, for example.

ETA: It usually comes up in the sale of businesses as Tommyrot points out.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

{{Fred Pete}}

Well, I got the new battery for the Volvo and it started up all happy. Of course, it did that after I jump started it, too, so the real test will be after it sits for a bit. But at least it's off the street, in my driveway, and leaving room to get past with the Toyota now. Tomorrow, smog check.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

www.pdftoword.com is another option - you upload a pdf and it emails you back a formatted word doc.

OMG, thank you, Brenda!

Oh, shit, what a massively sucky day for a tons of people I like. I’m so sorry.

Jilli, you will have stuff to make violet mojitos soon. So sorry for you and Pete about losing your kitty.

FredPete, you guys! I’m so sorry! What a sad year for you with your sweet pets.

Gud, that sucks hard-core. I’m not really sure what you do, but if you tell me, I will have people keep their ear to the ground here in KC, ok?

I would rather be done with grading, have it be Saturday (SPRING BREAK!) and be getting stone with Amy and Walter Bishop. Even though I don't know who WB is.

Wait: I'd rather be getting stoned by myself, sitting in a hot tub on a mountain, with a waterproofed Kindle, 12 newly released books by authors I like on it, drinking a couple of glasses of Amarone and eating pork belly, toro and a coffee-and-cinnamon ice cream sundae with a little Kahlua on top. With a bed 5 feet away with a nightstand that has a reading light, a duvet, a carafe of ice-cold lemon water and an Ambien on it. And nothing scheduled the next day.

That's what I want.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

So D student emailed me. His official reason for missing the appointment is he overslept. I am giving him points for honesty there. Ugh. I feel for him, it's just... meet me halfway!

I just found out that Tim Hetherington was killed today in Libya. I'm a little stunned that he made it out of the Korengal Valley but not Misrata.

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

Gud, I'm so sorry. This month has been a pisser for you, and I hope May treats you much better.
