I wonder if there are people who don't hesitate to call 911. I've hesitated everytime I've ever had to call, wondering if the situation warranted it and not wanting to be a repeat caller if the situation was already under control. Recently I called for a car accident that happened literally right in front of me. The funny thing was that the woman on the phone reassured me that the ambulance/firetruck was already enroute and I should hear the sirens in jut a few seconds, which I did nas I was driving away (happened in a intersection and I felt I could help most by getting my car out of the way), I saw the female driver pull her infant out of her seat, which totally gVe me chills. Of course, the last time *I* needed 911, I was in PR where there is no such thing and we had to wait over an hour for the police. I was pregnant with Frisco and had Ellie with me. I was reluctant to call 911 after mr. flea and I were robbed at gunpoint a block from our house. We were home safe in our apartment (it was before cell phones) so I argued there was no emergency. mr. flea pointed out that there was an armed man robbing people in our neighborhood, and that surely constituted an emergency. I conceded the point.

It's a vast conspiracy to overthrow the unseasonable and unwearable citizens of the United States of Clothing. We're going to send those lesser clothes packing. They're unfit and outdated, les vêtements sont morts, longs vivre les vêtements!

I kind of hold to the idea that anything unseasonable or unwearable can be modified into something that IS. But that is my own crazy, and I own it.

(Of course, this is also how I am able to dress three people in addition to myself tonight's event.)

Every change of season I think that I'll pack up all the out-of-season clothes and purge and organize the in-season. I may have actually done it once.

I have put away all my clean clothes from last time I did laundry! Well, most of them, enough so the laundry baskets are free for today's laundry and the pile of to-be-hung-up clothes is not too big.

Sad to hear about Dianna Wynne Jones.

Did she die? I knew she'd been ill for a while.

Her website has a bio she wrote up about growing up during WWII - she and her sisters were part of that generation that was displaced by the Blitz. It's fascinating reading.

Back from the bar mitzvah. Or should I say "bar mitzvah"? What I found out was that my second cousin and two of his friends got bar mitzvahed in Israel in December. The three boys were called to the Torah today, but it wasn't a bar mitzvah. It was nice, and there was food.
