You know, I just... I woke up, and I looked in the mirror, and I thought, hey, what's with all the sin? I need to change. I'm... I'm dirty. I'm, I'm bad with the... sex and the envy and that, that loud music us kids listen to nowadays.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Thanks for the Good Stuff, Tom! We already had The Mountain, but it was over the weekend, so maybe I'll put it up again?

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Sorry! I just missed it!

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

An xkcd depiction of Heaven

I dunno - my idea of heaven would be an infinite number of episodes of my favorite TV shows....

hip deep in pie

I thought NYT links via Twitter didn't count towards your monthly quota? I've just followed two links via Twitter and on the last one, they told me it was my last link of the month.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Straight privilege made sf_drama. Language sex-appropriate. Lots of disparagement of the concept of "I don't date a man, I date a Dom. If I dated a female Dom, I'd still be straight." As there should be.

Man, I cringe every time I see straight kinky people label themselves "queer." Because being kinky is non-mainstream sexuality, sure, but they're co-opting a term that already has an accepted use. Not cool. Back off, get your own term.

Lots of disparagement of the concept of "I don't date a man, I date a Dom. If I dated a female Dom, I'd still be straight."

Related but not quite the same: we have a female friend who got together with her partner when the partner was a man. The partner has since started gender reassignment (hormones and whatnot; no surgery yet) and identifies and lives as a woman.

Our friend (the bio-woman) still calls herself straight, and is, in fact, one of the most transphobic people I have ever encountered. She routinely tells trans* people that they aren't a "real [gender of choice]" because of the genitals they were born with.

And all I can think is, WHY is her partner still with her? I mean, is she (trans* partner) really okay that friend thinks of her as a man? And maybe she is. Sexuality is a weird thing. But to me, it really really grates. Though I am incredibly humorless and inflexible on trans* issues.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

But all the cool kids are queer, Steph! I want to be cool too! I can't be cool without telling you what I do in the bedroom!

Oh, thank GOD. My computer crashed last night, and I thought it took down the document from one of the meetings I led that I didn't understand (and therefore had no hope of recreating on my own) and it seems to be okay. I think that's better than I deserve. I can't wait until they upgrade us to Windows 7. I hear those can stay on for a week without rebooting.

Man, I just got raked over the coals for another project manager's decisions. It's not my fault I'm not managing the project. There's only so much I can do. I'm just telling the news.

eta: Steph, does the MTF partner intend to perform bottom surgery? Do you think the bio-woman would stay then?
