So yesterday was the 2 year anniversary of closing. Fitting I spent it with neighbors. Monday is 2 years of the first night spent here.
My first anniversary is end of this week! :) I have not done nearly as much to my place as you have though.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

My cousin put a bug in my ear about starting my own business and while I think it would be a long shot for me to do, I have been doing a bit of research and brainstorming tonight. My mother on the other hand is so stressed about my unemployment that she spends hours a day looking for jobs.
You are a natural organizer, msbelle. People have paid me to do that. If you can deal with folks who only sort of want to change, there is a huge market for it.
If you'd like to see my contract and prices, I'd be happy to share.
I got my new rug. It's much darker than the photo, so it doesn't match my couch like i thought it would. Ironically, it matches the shade that I thought my couch was until I got it home. I had it specially cut, so I can't take it back. I still like it.
I don't think I'd like to do personal organizing. What keeps coming to mind is concierge/errand services: dry cleaning, meds, wait for deliveries, post office, returns/exchanges.
That's an even better business. People want the service and are generally appreciative. If you can niche, the market refers itself. It does require charging around a lot. Is traffic a stresser in your area?
We had one of those in Columbus, msbelle. Her name was Jackie so her company name was Jackie of All Trades. She specialized in babysitting, dog sitting, house sitting and running errands for elderly clients, but she did just about anything. She made a decent living at it but she had to cultivate a lot of clients.
msbelle, I think you'd be fantastic at that. And you could make the business thing work - there are a lot of bits to keep track of, but it's completely doable, and anyway they're your bits.
(OTOH, your mother may just never get over it. My dad keeps asking me if I've found a job yet.)
msbelle, there was a story on Slate within the last couple of months about people doing that sort of work.
job ma ~~~ quester.
and I can think of once or twic in the last year when that would have been a really useful service , msbelle.
