Gud, my thoughts are with you and your family. Having gone through something similar in my family, I will say that the resilience of the human body is amazing. The mind can heal, too, but in some ways it's much slower and trickier. But it can be done.
I am so, so sorry for the shittastic week you've had.
We have a winter storm warning posted for tomorrow night. If we get six to 10 inches of snow, I'm going to be completely pissed off.
Thanks for the thoughts everyone. It looks like my BIL will be fine, according to him he took enough of his meds to equal 20 grams of acetaminophen and nobody knew until eight hours later. However his blood tests don't match what he says. Something doesn't quite add up.
Gud, glad that he is going to be fine: perhaps this was that shout for help that they say can happen.
In fun news, today's Las Vegas Groupon is for a "heavy machinery playground" -- you get to drive construction equipment to dig big holes and make piles of dirt and stuff. That sounds awesome. [link]

Man, New York Groupons suck. I'm moving to Vegas.
Isn't that a brilliant idea? They have everything fun there -- my friend's husband went to shoot machine guns the last time they were in Vegas.
Also: Happy birthday, beth!
That reminds me: friend was telling us last night that one of the requirements to graduate HS where she grew up was a tractor driving test!
Is it wrong that I read this headline:
Natasha McShane Struggles with Recovery a Year After Bat Attack and thought it meant that a bat(i.e., the flying mammal) had attached her rather than that she was attacked by a person wielding a baseball bat.
I skimmed the article and briefly wondered why people thought that bats were going after Irish Americans and then realized my error.

It probably is. It isn't like him to make a false claim like that, but he may have been legitimately confused over what he actually did. The meds also had Oxycodone so he wasn't super coherent when we took him to the hospital.
